How I Afford to Travel the World (and so can you)

  • In 2018 I first started to travel the world and today i'm going to share with you how I afford to do it, and how you can too! I first left to travel abroad in 2018 when I moved from the USA to Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam. My goal was to use my savings and find an English teaching job in Vietnam so that I can save enough to travel around Asia. Eventually I did that and then transitioned into teaching English Online while being able to live from anywhere in the world. But what else did I do so that I could afford to travel the world?

      Hey Jerris! Thanks for asking, one of my favorite topics. Best way to become better is to keep filming and practicing talking to the camera. I can't tell you how weird it felt first starting to film myself in public, but now it feels way more natural. As far as editing I use the 16inch Macbook Pro and FCPX. When you come to the Philippines, I suggest that you visit Banaue, where there are stunning rice terraces; the ones in Battad are the best, as these are in an amphitheater-like formation.
    I ❤️ Bali as well, especially Ubud, for the Indonesian culture that it showcases. Bought some paintings by the local artists there.
    For the (white) beaches, however, Bali’s are no near the sugary sand and azure waters of the Philippines’.

    • @alexandwhite
      @alexandwhite  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes!! I can’t wait to visit the Philippine beaches but will def have to put Banaue on my list as well, never heard of it actually

    • @frasejonco
      @frasejonco 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alexandwhite You may also visit Sagada, a town in the Mountain Province that’s a six-hour drive from Baguio City, the Philippine summer capital. The weather in Sagada is cold-maybe as cold as or even colder than Baguio’s-especially in December and January.
      You can go spelunking in Sagada as it has caves with stunning rock formations in stalagmites and stalactites.
      Another wonder in Sagada that’s worth seeing are the hanging coffins and the bats.
      From Sagada, you may travel to Banaue via Bontoc. It’s a 1.5-hour jeepney ride from Sagada to Bontoc, and another 2.5-hour jeepney ride to Banaue.
      There’s really nothing much to do in Bontoc, except visiting an ethnic museum.
      From Banaue, you may opt to travel for seven hours by bus to Vigan City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Established in the 16th century, Vigan is a Spanish colonial town that showcases the marriage of architectures of Southeast Asia, North Asia, and Europe.
      For the beaches, fly to the Visayas, in central Philippines, from Manila. Boracay is the most popular island for beautiful beaches, but it can’t beat Palawan. Visit Coron and El Nido, in Palawan, and you will know what paradise is.
      Good luck on your travels, Alex.
      Cheers!

    • @frasejonco
      @frasejonco 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ADayintheLifeofRia There are rice fields all over the Philippines, Ria. The rice terraces, however, are found in the mountainous region of the north, mostly in the town of Banaue, Ifugao province, where there are cooler climes. Hello!
    I hope all finds you well.
    As one of my dreams is to travel full time, I would love to ask for some advice from you. I have no idea where to start though I would love to try out becoming an online English teacher. I have no experience in that field but I have a background in Communication Studies and Sociology. I would really appreciate any tips or resources you’d like to share !
    Ps. I tried to message your Instagram account but it’s says you aren’t accepting messages at this time.

    Now - so interesting about the rice fields being all overgrown. We visited a couple of years ago and it was SO BUSY. I hated the crowds although the place was pretty enough. Now this video shows how you can video so well...makes sense. I'd love to get my son doing more vlogs and mentioned your name to him today. He is a "big", well-known youtuber here in Indonesia (and uses Javanese mostly). By the way - there is plenty to do and see here in East Java. It hasn't relied so heavily on overseas tourism so isn't doing as badly as Bali. Also, because of the times it has meant that most of us who would have previously gone overseas or to Bali or Lombok are happier finding places here in East Java to go to for a holiday/break from the big city.
