I have this album in my archive since '89 or so. Shared it with some friends in military getting them into jazz. I think it had a positive impact on them bcuz when my time was up they didn't want me to leave... And neither did! Ft. Stewart GA 😢
Let's live in harmony... A true treasure find for all generations. The lyrics are an example on ~ Let's find Love„ being ("its our only escape" ) Chorus~ is very spiritual which really speak volumes indeed. This cut happens to be 1 of my many favourite songs by George Howard!!!!
Love this track. I didn't know that George was doing the lead vocal. Wow! I hear that Gospel/Church influence. He has a wonderful voice. Not in any way to detract from his phenomenal talent on the saxophone but he really should have done much more singing. Roy Ayers early on made a decision that he was going to monetize his music by way of featuring several vocal tracks and that strategy was highly effective. To this day he is one of the most sampled/covered jazz artists. Nevertheless, George was a talent that did get some recognition. At least in this quarter. :)
Love forever George. Thank you for this beautiful gift. 🙏🏽🤍🕊️
A beautiful song and a smooth bassline by Nathan East. George was one of the greatest soprano saxophonists ever.....RIP.
See you in HEAVEN MY BROTHER. I know you’re in HIS PRESENCE playing Beautiful Music. R.I.P. Brother Howard.

it is amazing how I still enjoy a lot George Howard great songs with the same or more admiration of his excellent performance.
It's a wonderful ballad from one of the musical exponents of Grover Washington, Jr. and a master funkateer in his own right, George Howard
Takes me back to my days in Virginia Beach, VA...Naval Air Station and Norfolk State Days. The 80's were the best times. RIP GH
I myself was at Dam Neck during that same time. And I remember that for jazz WNSB was the station to listen to. 😊☺️😃

Yep! I caught him live in the late 80 early 90s truly a gem that could sing and play an instrument..
the hammer_on at the end of the rhythm player's strumming lick is a doozy
