    In the process of doing interviews in NYC after getting in GenM because of you. Was in the course when it first came through but ppl were asking for a lot just to get an internahip. With GenM a lot of the times internships are coming to you. Thank you so much Seth.

      How's your GenM experience, I made an account there, finished all modules, but ended up closing account there as what I experienced that rather mentoring apprentices and guiding them, businesses demand to work as they are paying to the candidate and without paying they expect you to work like a Pro.

    Taking the course now. Taking it slow and taking a lot of notes. Have an associates degree and working toward a bachelors in accounting...If I get a job from this class I'll probably switch to part time in school.

    Congrats on your success Karen. This course is definitely worth it. I'm surprised more people don't know about it. I completed this course in 2 months and landed a job at an agency, been working there for a month now. I'm actually about to re-enroll into the course so I can focus on freelancing since that is something that I neglected while I was taking the course. That was a good analogy Karen, there is so much the course offers, when I took it initially I focused on what I needed to get a job immediately and it worked flawlessly. I ate the burger, time to eat some fries.

    She better be earning close to 6 figures 80k+ in SF is about the same buying power as earning 40k in a rural town. Cost of living is ridiculous

    • @sethjared
      @sethjared  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      She has since moved back to Ohio and is making over $100K. One of the benefits of working for a SF based company. Also - when we spoke about her life in SF because she's in her 20s, I think she had a roommate, had a lot of her meals provided by her company and took public transportation so her actual cost of living was not that much higher than if she lived in another city.
      I think it's important for each person to do a breakdown of costs of living in their area because it varies based on situation and lifestyle. Having a car makes a big difference wherever you go - monthly payments, insurance, gas, repairs vs. a monthly public transpo pass in NYC or SF. Housing costs are really the most different but do you have a roommate, rent or own your own place?

    Hey Seth, thanks for the video..I have a question, how much does the avg intern make in California for social media management and how quickly can they get to a 55-60k salary after internship?

    • @sethjared
      @sethjared  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Social media management is not one of the skillsets I recommend. Paid social yes - but organic social is not one of the higher paying skills. Are you in the course?

    Hi Seth, really important question here regarding your course please, I will appreciate your answer. Should I pause your course to get through Isaac's Udemy course first and then resume back at you? Or should I go through your course first and them take Isaac's? Thanks in advance

    • @jamesphillips7656

      I'm also in the same situation. Personally I would do seth's course first since its shorter compared to isaac's course. But then do isaac's course.

    • @sethjared

      I updated the course to reflect my opinion which is that Isaac's course is more of a bonus - go through mine completely then you can go into it afterwards.

    I've watched your video about the age of 22 making 80 million dollars plus digital marketing, Can like me who lacks in English can take your course because English is not my native language?
    I need someone from my country to join you specifically so that I can learn without language control...
    (My Country is indonesia) You know bali is special vacation who to someone love to eat and swimming, diving and surfing,
    Now I live in Jakarta but more precisely in the city of Tangerang.
    (not bad from the airport not too far away if I had a passport I would definitely go to America to work with you, while also training my language😆)
    Why can I say it like this because I actually understand what karen said but I can't talk like her, now I am 22 years old and have entered the university in 2015 and until now I have not prepared a thesis because of economic factors

    That's poor pay for San Francisco though

    • @sethjared
      @sethjared  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      While it's true that the cost of living is really high in SF, it's not "poor pay". Her pay is equivalent to about $60K in a middle American city, and as a younger person she is sharing an apartment so doesn't have to pay the crazy rent there. Also Karen has freelance clients on the side which bolster her income, and the experience she's getting at a major company will only boost her asking salary in her next position.

      @@queenapple9012 You should create a Glassdoor account if you don't have one and then scan the job descriptions in various cities. Not only are there a ton but the descriptions match with the course outline. Here in NYC there are DM agencies that can't keep up with demand and are always hiring. Not to be confused with high turnover. The needs are legit, nothing left but to learn the skills.

      Umar Virk how to identify errors in ads account. He gives a 14 point checklist. Very helpful. Overview of digital marketing and the areas in it. How to build experience, do your resume, LinkedIn and get jobs. He updated the course and added how to freelance. He gives step by step on creating a website. I was in the coursetwo months. I went through the material month one. My summer was hectic with my full-time job and I decided to go another route to commit to DM. That route wasn't necessarily needed but I think it'll increase my network, something Seth also talks about in the course. The second step I also needed due to other life experience and it fit me best. Won't get into that here.
      I found the forum of students helpful. I didn't post but I read several dozen pages of threads. Several of his students are on TH-cam. I still follow their channels and find their tips incredible.
      I don't think anyone who knows what their goal is will be disappointed by the course.
      My goals were to take the course and build my confidence and believe I can make a huge improvement in my quality of life: happiness and rapidly increase my earning potential. I have a couple college degrees that I don't want to use due to trauma.
      I feel Seth's course provided the framework for me thinking a DM job was attainable. And that switching careers can happen - if I do the work.

    The median household income in San Francisco is $110k.... So no offense or anything (and congratulations to Karen on the new job!), but I just wouldn't refer to $80k as a "great salary" in the Bay Area. That might sound like a lot of money to someone who lives in another state, but that's below average here. If she was making $52k in Ohio, then making $80k in San Francisco is actually probably close to equivalent based on the cost of living increase here. In fact, if she makes $86,200 or less in 2019 as a single person, she technically qualifies for the low income Below Market Rate (BMR) housing program in San Francisco. At least she's still young and hopefully has a lot of growth potential at her company despite not having a college degree.

    • @sethjared
      @sethjared  5 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Hi Christina - the points of cost of living are well taken. Actually, Karen has kept her freelance clients while also having that salary so she is making more than what is said in the video. Regardless, it's a very good situation to be in for a 22 year old with no debt. If anything the Glassdoor experience will allow her to leverage herself into a higher position within a few years.
