A Total Approach - Floor Time Play - DIR

Dr. Stanley Greenspan and Dr. Serena Wieder originated this amazing program that facilitates growth in relationships through a developmental perspective and hierarchy of goals. The emphasis is on using play and spontaneous relationships as the foundation to growth and development, while also considering the unique individual profile of each client. A Total Approach is located just outside of Philadelphia and uses DIR / Floortime as a basic approach to intervention, though also utilizes the Play Project of Dr. R. Solomon from Michigan. Maude Le Roux has a book on DIR pending as well as participates as an international trainer in the DIR training for ICDL (Interdisciplinary Council for developmental and Learning Disorders)

One of the main distinguishing factors between an antiquated and highly selective focus on behavioral based thinking, which is unfortunate and pandemic in the treatment of ASD as well typical societal end-product thinking, compared with a focus on a truly comprehensive and empathic developmental approach such as DIR is a critical and most needed understanding of the co-constructed and co-narrative process of engagement. This applies to non-typical and neurotypical population alike. Well done.

This is a good video but the background music is torturous! I can not listen to what the people are saying with this music grating on my ears.
