The Kathmandu to Hetauda road via Kulekhani has long been an essential route for travelers moving between the capital and the Terai region of Nepal. However, following a devastating flood, this once reliable road faced significant challenges. Heavy rainfall and the subsequent flooding led to landslides, road blockages, and the destruction of infrastructure along the route, severely disrupting the transportation system. The floodwaters swept through the Kulekhani area, which lies in a particularly vulnerable part of the road network, causing widespread damage to bridges, culverts, and embankments. This forced the authorities to temporarily close the route while emergency repair work was undertaken. For days, the flood-affected areas were left isolated, making it difficult for goods and passengers to travel, and the loss of vital road connections hindered the local economy and affected communities' access to essential services.
