- In this video, we will fetch JSON data from a blog using Retrofit library. We have covered step by step a simple retrofit example to fetch data from the server. Blogger API is used to show articles in an app. JSON feeds of the blog are shown in Cardview inside recylcerview. This video is part 6th of our new android development tutorial series for beginners.

For an example we have a website and an android application so a customer is sign up into the website but after sometime he/she download our app and login into the application but he is not registered, so basically I have a question that how can we sync data website and the mobile application...
When I search on Google that I got a result that you should a RESTFUL API, but I can't understand that how can I implement it because in youtube everyone build an android application through the firebase Which is much expensive comparison to other hosting provider like bluehost, hostinger etc..
Please Guide me as a mentor, how can I solve this problem????
For your core functionality you need to expose endpoints which is like restful service. Every crud endpoint is required for full functionality.
Once your api is ready - you can integrate with your android app. No need to use firebase if you don't want to. For notifications - you need to firebase. But for functionality related to your app you need to follow this process.
Let me take one example - I have website which shows you hotels and do some bookings as well. It is a full system that has all the crud operations you can think off.
Now on top of that system which is your web application - you will be creating a layer of restful API that exposes a way for you to store and fetch data.
Android app will be created that supports signup and sign in feature with user based crud operations. Now you fetch the hotel results - get operation of that API

For whole thing you won't get any tutorial I guess. You can learn the things in chunks - first learn how to create APIs either via node Js, Python or .Net etc. Then go for Android integration

Old series bro...you can follow the same steps to access the api endpoints. Blogger API provides number of endpoints.

I create a method like this. I have an API which works like when we post a request it returns something in response, which we further use.
But In my case when I call this method it falls into Onfailure().
I want to know is it necessary to pass a parameter in method in case of Retrofit?
Sir, i create an object to store the data of response.body(). But when it came out of the onResponse method the object becomes Null. Can you please tell me why it happening and how i can fix it...

I have used google places api. It is hitting the server and I get JSON response on any web browser but when I used the same using retrofit onfailure method is getting called.Internet permission is set. Could you please help me out why onfailure method is getting called?

what if we have api running on localhost ? do we have to provide api key of it also?
API key is a way to authenticate api users. if your api has this feature then you need it otherwise don't

Hey guys just use "PostFile" on the place of PostList. PostList is nothing but just a class which we copied in our project from json to pojo website in his case the file name is PostList but in my(maybe in your too) case it is PostFile.

Why to use that pojo thing if we are providing url to our application.

Url returns json. Application works with Java objects. That json needs to converted to Java objects so that application can work with them. To create objects you need classes. So POJO
So to display that data in recycler view we might not need that.

Sir when u used volley library u havnt used something like Get and haven't made interface to access json but why in this video?
This is how libraries work. Things are different in every library. This is how retrofit works. Its easy and scalable to have an interface. This makes it clear on the functionality we are using from the API.
API might expose 100 methods but in our interface we define what we need. So our app might use only 10 and it is clearly visible
Is this api call will cause memory leak when rotate screen or leave Activity, don't you?

Just use retrofit to call the API. Instantaneous is not possible. You go to those servers to fetch the data which takes time.

By having this attribute - you tell that this property should be serialized or deserialized

In simple words - Object ko aise format mei convert kardo jise wo kahi bhi save kar skte ho...baad mei jab use karna hoga toh deserialize kar lenge
