As much as i understand wounding animals is a chance while hunting the second you hit an animal no matter lethal or not that animal is the end to your season so you gotta find it… just the right thing to do. Pretty sure 90% of guides work the same way
Pretty awesome to see the impact, Jerrods dad had on everyone. You can’t say he wasn’t watching over you guys on that final day. Love seeing the raw emotion behind the hunts! Thanks for bringing us along Huntin Fool crew!
What a great emotional hunt. I love the video editing and feel like I’m part of the crew on this hunt. Way to stick with it boys, comments are interesting but people should just stick to what they know. You boys know how to get it done!!!!
Wicked hunt..Congrats...Don't listen to the haters about the unethical crap. You did your best, looked for the bull. You are 100% correct in the video, if you hunt long enough you will unfortunately wound some and they will get away. That's hunting, especially with a bow.
We considered cutting a lot out of this film but ultimately hoped the viewers would appreciate seeing the real side of things. Glad you enjoyed the film.
To each their own ethic and values... but after wounding an animal like that it's either search and kill that animal for the rest of the trip or consider myself taggued out. Awesome imagery nevertheless...
I watch ALOT of youtube hunting content...... i will say these two episodes are at the very top tier of story telling and cinematography i have ever seen. Love it.
Thank you Isaac, that means a lot! These were probably my favorite two films that I have done in a long time. The storyline, location, and emotion of the hunt made it a unique and interesting story to tell. -Brady
This was hard to watch, honor that animals life with clean quick kills and let it run if you don't have a very clean shot. This was a display of poor sportsmanship.
having 1 eye is a blessing and a curse as are many other situations that are such. you dont have to close the other eye when scoping, glassing, sighting.
We considered cutting a lot out of this film but ultimately hoped the viewers would appreciate seeing the real side of things. Glad you enjoyed the film. Moose are especially tough, and there's plenty of things we would do differently the second go round!
Absolutely. You notch your tag when you put two arrows in a big game animal and know it’s going to die. You then close the distance when you’re clearly incapable of shooting that distance.
As a hunter who has never set foot in Alaska, I can only imagine the thrill and challenge of embarking on a DIY moose hunt in the vast Alaskan wilderness. The idea of venturing into an area accessible only by float plane, with the goal of finding a trophy moose with a 50-inch or better requirement, is both daunting and exhilarating. Isaiah and his brother Caleb's adventure epitomizes the essence of true wilderness hunting. In the first part of their journey, Caleb's success in harvesting a 60+ inch bull set a high bar. The anticipation and pressure for Isaiah to match his brother's achievement must have been immense. The close call with bow hunting and the successful rifle shot on a black bear along the beach added layers of excitement and camaraderie to their expedition. It's moments like these that lift the spirits and fuel the determination to keep pushing forward, even when the odds seem stacked against you. As the clock ticked down on the final day, the sighting of a giant bull moose must have felt like a dream. The brothers' ability to strategize and make long shots while the moose stood in the lake showcases their skill and perseverance. The culmination of their efforts with not one, but two 60+ inch Lake Monsters, and a bonus black bear, is nothing short of a hunter's dream come true. This story is a testament to the rewards of hard work, patience, and the unbreakable bond between hunting partners. For anyone considering a moose hunt in Alaska, Isaiah and Caleb's experience serves as an inspiring reminder of what awaits in the untamed wilderness. Thank you for sharing these stories with us.
Brady, you knocked this out of the park! The way you were able to capture and put this together is amazing! Capturing Isaiah’s emotion like this shows who he is and how much he cares about the people in his life! Well done!
Thanks Travis, we wouldn't have posted this if we didn't want the negative comments. Unfortunately a lot of them make a valid point, if we could do it again we would change a lot of things, but at the end of the day we did our best and hunted by the law. We wanted to share what happened, and expose a side of hunting that is all too common, and often hidden. Thanks for watching.
I agree it's easy to notice an arrow but really difficult to find a bullet wound on an older carcass. No telling how many animals I've found had died from gunshots.
@@Nwhunter ummm okay but now you have to be truthful and put that into perspective as to why. There’s 500 rifle hunters for every bow so ya that’s how numbers work but percentage perspective not a chance. Either way both categories come down to morons shooting beyond their capabilities with zero regard for wildlife and most continue hunting. Blows my mind how many pick up bows cuz there’s an earlier season and have no clue what they’re doing though.

Some nice bulls, sorry about your friends dad. Although I understand the highs and lows of bow hunting, I'm fairly certain that if you wound an animal, you are officially tagged out. I dunno if you tube is a good idea if the wrong people see this.
As far as ethics are concerned, that is a good rule to hunt by. However, in almost all units of Alaska the law is to make every reasonable effort to retrieve that animal. If you cannot, you can keep hunting. We searched for him the rest of that day and the next, and were unable to track him in the given terrain. If the law stated otherwise we certainly wouldn't continue hunting.
@@huntinfool_officialthat is only true in certain units for certain game species. I would really look into the regulations for where you guys were at cause I’d be shocked if what you said actually applies towards moose

It happens so much and it’s disgusting. So many go out and use a bow with hardly any experience or shoot rifles beyond their capabilities. Hear of atleast 10-15 animals wounded annually just through word of mouth. Can’t imagine the rest of the population in my area let alone the country.
Not exactly one shot wonders but they’re displaying it honestly as it happened which you’ve got to respect. You can’t tell me every single animal you’ve ever shot only took one attempt. Shit happens, they still got the animals they were chasing bar the bow bull, which was a case of bad luck. Looked like 2 pretty good shots to me but the bull just swallowed em. Good video boys
It’s a harsh reality of the moment and hunting. Nobody wants to admit it. But it’s far more prevalent than what TV depicts. Credit due here to be fair.
@owenveltman7329 I don't shoot past 400 with my rifle. I've never needed multiple rounds and then spined it on my 5th out of shit house luck like this guy. Obviously that moose was well over his effective Range.
