    Hey Lloyd... I just ordered your book. I'm excited about it, and hope to make some videos leveraging what you're about to teach me. I've been into the RC side of things for the last few years (FPV quads, rovers), and I used to be a Linux SysAd and Metrology Automation Engineer in TX and MI. Time to bridge these gaps and synergize ; ) I really want to get into autonomous agriculture on the smaller homestead / community scale, but my first experiments will likely be security patrol bots since I'm caretaking an elderly parent for the foreseeable future. It's pleasant to see a fellow Michigander with similar interests and abilities; hope I get to meet you in person some day.

    Loving the videos and the book even more. Quick question, for your hoverboard ROS series, do you plan on expanding on that and maybe making videos on turning the robot autonomous like using gmapping which you explain in your book. You're an amazing teacher and I find that videos here on youtube explaining SLAM with ROS implementation to be a little confusing.

      Thank you for the kind words. I have to be careful what I publish because of my contract with the publisher (can't be too similar to any content in the book). I do plan to do a series of helping book readers transition to use the ROS navigation stack for a more robust robot. Also keep in mind that since the hoverboard platform responds to the same commands as the robot platform from the book, it should be pretty much a matter of replacing the simple_diff drive that used to convert the velocity twist message into PWM signals for the motors. Instead you would launch the hoverboard driver and make sure the message topic names match (the hoverboard driver monitors "hoverboard_velocity_controller/cmd_vel" but you can remap that or better yet, use the cmd_vel_prioritizer I have in this repository: github.com/lbrombach/practical_robot_tools.

    To be fair coding needs to be precise or it does not work
