Answering your QUESTIONS about LEXAPRO | Side Effects, Withdrawal, Improvement | 1 year on Lexapro

  • How long does Lexapro take to work? What are the side effects of Lexapro? Does Lexapro improve sleep? These are all questions asked on my previous video about anxiety. I will answer the most common questions about Lexapro.
    What is Lexapro? Escitalopram is used to treat depression and anxiety. It works by helping to restore the balance of a certain natural substance (serotonin) in the brain. Escitalopram belongs to a class of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI). It may improve your energy level and feelings of well-being and decrease nervousness.

    5mg is the smallest dose for Lexapro and you can even break that tablet in half if side effects are too much. 10mg is most recommended as it is the therapeutic dose.

    • @Wolfgoddess56
      @Wolfgoddess56 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You can go up to 20mg. But that is the most doctors will recommend. I have seen others say they're taking WAY more than 20mg. Like 30-50mg. But I've heard that 20mg is the max amount most doctors will allow you to take.

    Thank you. I took Generic Lexapro 3 years ago on top of Pristiq 50 plus 300 lithium at night. The Lexapro helped me with anxiety and the depression. Right now I am in the same boat so now looking to put back the Lexapro 10 mg. Plus I also did TMS. I am hoping starting this on Monday and maybe in a week I will feel the difference. Thank you for the video.

    I have had fairly bad social anxiety for years. I am comfortable meeting a friend or 2 for a meal, but i cannot handle family gatherings or any kind of gatherings with more than 2 people. Much of the time, I do not even like leaving my house. I am not an angry person and I do not yell at my wife.

    🤍🙏🏾✨ pls talk about “hunger” and cravings. I think is a big part too. Im on lexapro for about 2 m, im skinny,always have been. Also doing a lot of Intense workouts like walking 15,000 steps, biking, running and hitting the gym, I can do that in one day…but even with all that i can notice my metabolism slowed down and the cravings like when smoking pot.. Im doing like you lately, taking every 2 other days but I want to wear it off due to this ! Oh, and Hair Loss!! All my life ive had veeeery thick hair but for a while now start seeing that it debilitates and I can only conclude that the medication did that..or the severe ptsd ive had before taking it, either way even calmer (on meds) the hair didn’t grew back…idk what to think…. :( in general is Good medication for anxiety/depression , just the side effects hit hard for some and gotta think is it’s worth it

      I just looked this up. “Lexapro may cause weight gain because it blocks the serotonin transporter, which increases levels of serotonin in the brain, but also increases appetite and decreases metabolism. Research has shown approximately 40% of people taking antidepressants such as Lexapro will gain 7% or more of their starting body weight.”
      WOWWWW.

    I’ve been taking it in the morning (cause I heard it’s better in the morning?) . Well it’s actually just day 2, 5mg and I feel just as anxious but kinda sleepy. I’m like damn maybe I should take it at night. How do I transition from the morning to night? 🥲

      I take it at night. Only take one a day though. So, just skip taking it in the morning, and take it in the evening before bed.

      @@Arizona_lilly nice. I never actually transitioned to taking it at night. I still want to. But now my body got used to taking it during the day.
