With our new gym, and bigger filming studio, we can finally get into some more takedowns for Jiu-Jitsu and MMA! Today we share some really solid takedowns from the rear body lock! Mat returns and takedowns to all sides. If you enjoy this one, be sure to subscribe because we are dropping a part 2 (with bigger throws) soon! Osú
I love the rear bodylock and also use it often for backtakes from the turtle. But I have one issue I sometimes run into: the arm that is over his hip; how do you make sure that he doesn’t get a Kimura grip? It sometimes happens that he can trap my arm with the elbow. Any advice on how to protect the elbow and arm from being grabbed?
Yeah most of the times you are gripping with an S grip or grabbing your own wrist? If you have a tight gable grip it should not be a problem. Also in the setup of our first video you see the difference between long and short arm on his hip that should really solve the kimura problem! Hope that helps brother!
@@solslastcannula5665 ok lol 🤣 well thank god I invested in these beautiful mats in my gym right? If I were to throw you on concrete though, I’d do a suplex on your neck. 👍🏼 but seeing this is a grappling instructional video for a sport we have rules. Ohw, and nice soft mats 😉
Ok, but this let me a question: im a 145 lb 3 stripes blue belt. Which takedown do you think is the best againts somebody who is stronger and is punching me?. In sport, double leg is my bread and butter but maybe in concrete hurt my knees. I've never been in a street fight. Thanks for the content!
@@cristo3668 I usually don’t get into these discussions, saying we focus on sports jiujitsu. But seeing I’m teaching at a police academy tomorrow I’m in the mood 😅 so you do not want to shoot on your knees. Best would be Judo throws if you have the experience or otherwise some easy lift and dibs from (rear) bodylock. Get close to avoid punches, get underhooks and dip them down. I think there’s a few easy dibs in this video or the other bodylock takedown video we have. Hope that helps!

Your real name is Energy?
@@DKY00 my name is Tum. Energia is my nickname (originally from Capoeira!)
Do the math return on concrete or pavement like in a street fight = instant broken elbow and knee. Yes lovely padded mma mats maybe is fine
