د. فارس سعيد، طبيب قلب، نائب سابق ورئيس المجلس الوطني لرفع الاحتلال الإيراني. في العام 2000، فاز سعيد في الإنتخابات النيابية ليصبح سنة 2005 المنسق العام لتحالف 14 آذار . ترأس فارس سعيد المجلس الوطني لرفع الاحتلال الإيراني سنة 2020 وعُرف بسياسته المناهضة لإيران وحز ب الله في لبنان.
في هذه الحلقة، يسترجع سعيد بدايات دخوله الى المعترك السياسي والخلفية السياسية التي أثرت على مفهومه للسلطة بدءا من ترشح والدته الى الانتخابات النيابية وصولا الى علاقته برئيس حزب القوات اللبنانية سمير جعجع. كذلك يطرح النائب السابق مسألة الميثاقية والهواجس الطائفية التي أدّت الى سقوط النهج الشهابي في لبنان وإمكانية قيام دولة أقوى لو استمر هذا الحكم. يقارن الضيف أيضا تطبيق العلمنة بين لبنان والغرب، التنوع، واللاعدالة في توزيع حقوق الأفراد لضمان حقوق الطوائف. كما يناقش فكرة العقد الإجتماعي بين النظرية والتطبيق والتوصّل اليه من خلال إتفاق الطائف. أخيرا تناول فارس سعيد موضوع إستقواء حز ب الله بالخارج والفرص التي أتيحت له نتيجة ولائه لإيران إضافة الى واقع المتاجرة بالخوف من أجل إدارة اللادولة.

Wow great interview, so much I learned from this in-depth chat and enjoyed the tennis match back and forth between two sides. Usually I see extreme views from mr fares but in this discussion he seems reasonable and views not too extreme, i hope the dr continue to contribute to make leb better and moderate his old views.

نقاش جيد ومفيد. هذه المرة الاولى التي اسمع فيها لفارس سعيد باصغاء، لذلك شكرًا جاد.
لكن النقاش لم يكن عميقًا بما فيه الكفاية خصوصًا بالحديث عن النظام والازمة والسياسة. اعتقد انه حلقة ثانية ستكون مفيدة. كذلك المقدمة والسرد التاريخي كانا شيّقين.
Thank you Jad for the interview, it is good to have deep discussions with all politicians, at least we can understand deeply how they think and judge them. What we see from politicians in Lebanon is only shouting at each other. These valuable interviews are the steps to make people judge better.
The funny thing in this interview is that the guest tries to always blame HB for his arm despite it being the only controlled arm in the country. Moreover, without this arm,1) Israel would be in Beirut, 2) civil war between different religions would take place (since HB doesn't allow it to happen i.e. tayoneh), 3) No deals with neighbors (Israel and Syria) would be developed and our rights would be gone. I am not saying arm should be with any party, of course we are all against illegal arms as long as our army is well armed.
Regarding the idea of fear, this fear is real, this fear is due to US preventing Lebanon from having strategic weapons such as missiles or air fighters making enemies do whatever they want. This fear is real and we lived it from 1982 until 2000. This fear is real and we lived it in 2006 for 33 days. This fear is real, I think the guest is trying to make propaganda of fear.

perhaps the creation of greater Lebanon in 1920 also turned the Druze from around 40 percent of the population in small Lebanon ( Mount Lebanon) to a small minority of 6 % with the the creation of Greater Lebanon. Perhaps the the addition of let us say the Governate of Homs to Lebanon will change the whole picture of Lebanon again

Someone somewhere in the world of Lebanese Media is going to TALK about the ordinary man and woman in the street. Please, God. Whoever that person will be will deserve my absolute admiration and deserve my time watching. He will talk and interview so-called "politicians" some call them "Leaders" about - hospitals, schools, public transport, old people, prison conditions, road conditions, the environment, pollution, Beirut Airport, monopolies, garbage collection, crime, ambulance service, cost of broadband, cost of mobile phone subscription, child protection and many more issues that matter to our daily lives. Not whether a politician is in tune with another - the least of our worries!!!

one of the most useless discussions i have ever heard. only interest is seeing that there are lebanese from mars and others from jupiter (to not say venus). would have liked to know why doesn't exist anymore in the political discussion for the lebanese forces and where did yhey diverge. how he got replaced by hawwat. that would have made some more sense instead of comparing lebanon to europe and justify our confessionalism by a right wing gaining ground because of economical issues in the European union and not as he thinks because of christians. most of Europe is actually atheist or non believer. where was this discussion when Europe had a whole left wing governments. was he preaching for a left wing system in Lebanon then? stupid arguments by a person trying to convince himself of a system where he can exist as a local leader with no global vision. not one word about the state of the country as we see it today either. very disappointing to me to be honest
