Last 10 years Rajasthan had floods five or six times. If only man made lakes and ponds or at least one foot deep trenches all over the farmland were made every rain would have happily filled them several times Thus the earth would have percolated millions of liters of rain water and would have kept the soil moist and the ground water level up and every well in the area would have been replenished That could sustain water availability for next two or three years easily

This presents so clearly and interestingly, positive action in response to Rajendra Singh's call for global water-literacy. The involvement of the community in decision-making is especially impressive.

There are plenty of resources online to do this. Maybe you're meant to bring this change to Spain yourself.

As they already have water, planting trees would be the logical continuation.

Wish I could be assured that this program was better conceived. Frequent, small rainwater harvesting structures are better than very large, centralized ones.

This type of Johads need to be built in villages all over India if the country is to survive the population of 1.4 billion and growing. Glad to see that there are some enlightened people who can educate the uneducated masses.

      And what about land Mafia?
In my city there were many large ponds and all were filled up and high raises buildings are being made over that.

How can a country that spends so much money on aero space, munitions and so much more, ignores its poorest people and their hardships. Water should be a priority for all citizens, not a luxury for the few. It is a disgrace that India is financially supported by so many countries and the question where did all the money go.

What is the rationale of the distracting disturbing music in the back ground? So annoying. I like this type of nature videos, but had to discontinue.

One gets an impression that in this documentary, the word "Johad" has been used to denote a dam. In Hindi and its dialects, Johad means a pond and not a dam.
Even if there is no dam and the water is collected in a pond, it would still be called a Johad.

When it's said the monsoon "failed", does that mean rain was less than it habitually is? Or none at all?
