    U say good Charles and we can understand you. But only 1 suggestion, when you talk Serbian words say short and quick...
    "Nos" is good
    "Noooos" is bad.
    "Ruka" is goood...."Rukaaaa" is bad
    Say short and fast, dont strech ...=)
    We have reverse problem when we learn English.
    See here (Rewind to 3:00 min)
    Tesna Koza-Japanac(on se meni plazi)..

    palac,kažiprst,

    for glezhany - synonym for chlanack - članak (more in use),
    ZGLOB (zglobb) means JOINT, so koleno (kohleno) - knee, skočni zglob (jump joint) or članak - ankle, ručni zglob (hand joint) - wrist, zglob prsta - finger joint, lakat (lahkatt) - elbow, kuk (cook) - hip, rame (rahme) - shoulder, vilica (wilitsa) - jaw = all body joints
    butina (bootynah) - thigh
    peta (pehtah) - heel
    zub (zoob) - tooth
    taban (tabbahn) - arch (foot)
    dlan (dlann) - palm (hand)
    nadlanica - back of the hand

    heya charles, you did a brilliant job! usually, english native speakers have a really hard time pronouncing some of our sounds, but some of the words were literally spot on, so well done! :)
    the only thing i could say is that you might aspirate the k and p a bit more. the way you said them they almost sounded like the serbian g and b. (e.g. in the word stopalo). but great job :)

    pinkie = "мали прст" - means little finger;

    Man dont listen to him, we also say "grudi", for males. I have never heard anyone say "prsa", very very rarely, that is something bosnians or croatians would say.

  • @catlover383
    @catlover383 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    In English vowels are A E I O U and sometimes Y. Yes? Well in Serbian vowels are A E I O U and sometimes R. So in Prst there is a vowel. Just a sometime vowel.

    hahaha, yes I`m loughin`, but I`m impressed you really WANT to learn language
    you know, Serbian is difficult for pronunciation, it is slavic (southern) language, but it doesn`t much sound like one (compare it to russian for example), it`s tough, sharp when you hear it, grammar is similar to latin, so you change words, nouns and verbs by rules etc
    actually in `prst`, letter R is semivowel, like L, so we regularly use that rule ;)
    good luck
    dobro je :)

  • @ausnik
    @ausnik 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Shaka/shake is technically fist. Ruka/ruke is used for both arm/s and hand/s. A bit confusing to get used to. It's one of those that's difficult to directly translate. Zglob can also refers to both wrists and ankles just an FYI, but gležanj (has that little tick above the z) is the more accurate way of saying albeit one not too many people use. Your Serbian is going really well man. Just keep consciously trying to improve your accent and you will.

    If you go to the doctors office they will use GRUDI, because they are chest, and the name is valid as used in medical books "GRUDNI KOŠ" describing the rib cage.
    It is true we have several meanings for the GRUDI, but I don't think its too common for anyone to go around and asking people about their GRUDI or complimenting them on the same. Also, to become a "sexual thing" you need to add a gender before the word and say FEMALE CHEST, that would indicate breast.
    PRSA is not a common term.

    You should try saying names now, do me a fave and try to say my name.
    My name is Жарко (look on Google trans) , and my great God is it hard, i can't even say it correctly sometimes. Its a really rare name, in literal translation it mean fire like, or blaze like, spark, flare, or ember. (anything related to does little fire balls you see flying up when you burn wood in the fire place)
    Also, did you see the serbian choir concert in the UN in January this year?
