I made 15 of the Nativity Scene based on your tutorial. Each family member takes one home with them after Christmas Celebration. Thank you for this. I painted with mica powders then put a finish coat over for protection. They turned out really nice. Last year was my first year in polymer clay and started the ornament tradition. I'm going to be 75 in December so I don't know how many more will take place but I plan on doing this as long as I can see and do the work. Again, Thank You.
The stories from selling these ornaments seems like a very special aspect of the business. I especially love hearing about the lady who had one for her son and then grandson. So thoughtful! It is also interesting to see that families enjoy themselves as snowpeople year after year!
I have many. many stories. Two quick favorites which I probably mentioned on a video. Back when I made Raggedy Ann and Andy ornaments, a couple named Ann and Andy bought them for their all Ann and Andy tree. I thought that was sweet and unusual. And at one show, my son who was in college at the time and helping me, was called eye candy by an old woman who totally embarrassed her teenage grandsons. Matthew was very gracious, smiled and said thank you. One of my favorite moments. The look on the faces of her grandsons was priceless!
I am Jewish and obviously don't celebrate Christmas but I am so darn bored! I went to Michael's today and bought some clay and made my first Santa ornament. Had a blast. Will probably make a whole lot more and will either need to sell them or start making a bunch of Christian friends. Thank you for showing off your work.
You have such a calming voice. I enjoy listening to you as you explain how to recreate your beautiful ornaments. Thanks for your unique contributions of polymer clay crafts and for sharing your talent and stories. May God bless you abundantly
Oh I’d buy the cardinal bird ornament without a doubt! We don’t have them in Europe (or at least I don’t think so) …. Your ornaments are fantastic! I’ve just bought some fimo to try your tutorial for the Christmas cat and dog .. still awaiting delivery of the black fimo. Never done polymer clay before so I’m waiting for my daughter’s arrival for Christmas later this month so we can play together. Have a happy Christmas and a lovely new year. Best wishes from France.
Thank you Robin! Simple ornaments take less time to make than the more complex ones. I can make them quickly because I have been doing it so long. Everyone has their own pace. When I was doing shows, I sold the ornaments from $6'00 to $20.00. Times have changed and supply prices have gone up , so price accordingly. I always used a Sharpie Ultra fine point and they do not smear however apparently they can fade over time. Some pens take quite awhile to dry on polymer clay. Sharpies dry almost instantly. th-cam.com/video/lIuHsTEPhPc/w-d-xo.html

Ty love everything you do. Do me a nurse ornament please. Ty
I do a flying angel nurse and a standing nurse. Is there anything in particular you would like to see on a nurse?
Simply Ornaments I would love to see both if you could. Thank you so much!
What type of permanent pen do you use? Brand? I have an ornament from show - writing smeared
