That's what i was thinking. I used to swear by penn reels, but recently Iv'e been using the daiwa bg and tbh i like it better than the battle III. So im not as opposed to trying other brands as i used to be.
I have over a dozen of these from the 2500-4000 size. I’ve always been surprised at their inexpensive cost! The reel is as good as the stradic ci4 for a lot less!
@@CaptChrisCanning Not recently. Been fighting an eye infection for a little over two weeks now but it's made good progress. I'll probably be back at it next weekend 🤞🏾

Hey Chris. Yes we know how you are, so understand bending and rubbing damage to the reel . It would have been worse if it was Josh's equipment..lol. I like the weight and drag on the reels.. I'll have to check out the 3000.. Thanks for sharing and giving us new products and info.. Keep up the good work.. Always your friend, fan, and subscriber..
I have field tested 79 reels from different manufacturers and 14 okumas...still have a problem on the itx and they have never fixed it...thks for sharing
@@CaptChrisCanning sent it in for service..cranking rough..came back repaired with different handle that goes thru the main gear..the oem handle is screwed onto the main gear..they should have replaced the reel instead of doing that repair..still awaiting how they gonna fix it..send me new reel with the proper handle or send reel in to get the proper handle installed
Hey Chris nice review. Can't wait to see it after 6 months. I may not be the first to comment (because I watched your video first) BUT, I was the first to 👍 Take Care and God Bless ✝
They’re very comparable. The thing is the ITX had a lot more drag. So if you’re freshwater then you might consider the Helios, but if you’re doing saltwater definitely go with the ITX.
@@CaptChrisCanning Thanks for the info! I have been battling to choose between the Helios vs ITX. Could not find any information anywhere on the Internet for a comparison. Will be doing a bit of salt water fishing with it, so the ITX might be the better bet then.
@@CaptChrisCanning which way would you go? this or the Shimano Nasci? same pricepoint. Or even vs the Helios for freshwater? Main reel i am looking at is the Nasci, but this looks really good. But, Shimano, I mean cmon lol thanks!
I'd def beg to differ there. Okuma fishing has been impressing me for a bit now. Ever since I first bought a Cerros casting rod, very impressive vs others costing much more. I think right now a lot of companies stepped up, and honestly I see some of the big guns going the reverse a bit
I've owned okuma reels for 20-30 yrs now and they have come along way with their reels, sweet reels.
I agree, Okuma has been slaying for that price range, i def need to grab one and do a review.
Hell yeah. I played around with some okuma reels the other day and loved them. They feel similar to Daiwa to me.

Hows the internals? Whats the gears made of? Hows the line lay?
does it have encapsulated(shielded) bearings? thanks
Great Capt. Looking to get one at the show
Which show?
Another great review Chris. Those aesthetics with the bright braid were definitely sweet.
Looking sweet right! Thanks for watching Marcus. Have you been fishing lately?

I'm a big fan of Okuma. Can't wait to get the ITX.
How this Okuma reel cast in regard to distance if you compared it to a Shimano Ultegra FC? Good distance like the Ultegra?
Okuma is killing it for the price. Plus it’s built in Taiwan; they build great stuff!
built in china. lol its 2021 and ppl still thinking where they are built from affects the quality lol

@@aaronhiggs just returned my grey's fly reel, it was trash , spool unlocks while pulling line, I'll stick with second hand made in England
Nice reel! Keep the reviews coming!
They got the handle right T are for salt or a round knob
Nice review. Looking forward to seeing you in action with it.

can it be used for light popping
Defiantly I use it for Popping corks all the time
Better value than the epixor?
I personal think so.. But I also haven't had the most experience with the epixor
Looks like a lews just a different color 13 fishing has a nice reel that’s pretty close this this
Nice review Chris !!!
Thanks for watching Pablo!
Ok, i hit the button!
😍 thanks Chris

You da man Dino! Thanks for watching brother and always smashing that like button!
Just got the 4000, and its bad ass!! Have used the Penn fierce 3 forever and loved it but this reel feels better👌
This or Daiwa Fuego ?
Any thoughts on it compared to the Helios?

cant beat daiwa or shimano on the $100 range
This guy defiently pushing in their class.
I agree. The Epixor Xt is a beast of a reel sub 100 bucks.
