  • Hey!
In this video i'll be sharing a brief overview of how I take care of my dwarf rabbit, Walter. Obviously, there are TH-cam channels out there DEDICATED ENTIRELY to rabbit care, so clearly this 16 minute video won't be covering every aspect of bunny care, but it will hopefully give you a brief synopsis of the main things that bunnies require.
If there is a demand for how I clean Walter's cage and area, I'll be sure to do another video on that very soon!!
But for now, I hope you enjoy this video and I'll hopefully see you very soon with some true-crime/conspiracy content!

One think you shouldn’t take from the video is seeds bunnies can’t have seeds I used to give my seeds before I found out they can’t digest them so I just stopped giving her them and she’s much more happy

But then everything else what she said if correct they can eat spinach once or twice a week cause it’s hight in oxalates and kale I would suggest once a week if you have a small bunny cause it is high in calcium and if you feed them to much kale then they can get gassy but it also depends of the size of the rabbit shes right about alfafa but for baby bunnies cause it helps them with gaining weight don’t let it be their main hay only I would recommend mixing it with Timothy or any grass based hay to help with moving their digestion but if your bunny don’t like alfalfa then dont worry cause all my bunnies were on meadow hay cause they didn’t like alfalfa and they are fine as long as they are eating drinking and gaining weight then there is nothing to worry about also to much alfalfa is high in calcium so it can be bad in high quantities from what some vets has told me but don’t quote me on that cause I’m not a vet always ask your vet to make sure you have the right diet for your bunny cause every bunny is different.
With fruit and veg I would recommend 2 a week cause they are high in sugar for rabbits so for example you can’t give your bunny an apple at the start of the week and in the middle a banana and by the end a carrot I hope you guys get what I mean it’s tricky to explain

My rabbit was spoiled to death. I used to snuggle up to her in my bed and fall asleep with her. She used to lick the tears off my face when I was sad and eat and drink out the palm of my hand! I LOVED my bunny, little cutie! She was so soft and beautiful!

This is good info. I have American Fuzzy lops. I wish you showed the schedule of feeding each item? Because mine eat frequently, but I give treats rarely, because they will not eat what is better for them if I do, they rather eat treats!
My Vet said give my little dwarf appropriate greens every day. Amount should be the size of his head and this is tightly squeezed in your hand -size of his head -about the size you showed about 2/3 cup. Pellets 16% protient content 1/4 cup daily, and Timothy hay....because Timithy hay is styled to correct portion of nutrients. Alfalfa hay my vet said do not give at all! It is high in calcium and will cause trouble for the rabbit down the road & you'll be sorry! Fresh spring water constantly.
I let my rabbits out in the morning to run in their space. Water timothy hay available. At 10am fresh greens, water and Timothy's hay available. I have a low box of straw hay filled in their run also free feed. They eat it as they please. At 5pm I give them their 1/4th of pellets. Fresh water morn & at bedtime. I close them up in their cages at 8pm. They are pet, handled & brushed/combed everyday.
These are exotic pets. They require lots of care! A cat is easier!
I love bunnies & its a joy for me to care for them. The vet will cost you the same money as any other pet. A rabbit is a mammal and not a rodent! They are a prey animal so it takes a while to gain its trust! They can hold grudges! You have to beg their forgiveness by getting on the ground face to face & nosing them on the nose with your nose while talking sweetly. This usually happens after a long grooming session & my bunnie is tired and wants to leave the grooming table after 10 minutes. Occasionally they will show up with a Matt in their hair & it has to be taken out before it nots-to the skin. Long haired rabbits are extra care, don't let anyone tell you different! One of my males is a retired show winner 🏆 and even though he's used to excessive grooming, he gets tired too. I give them a treat for being patient with me & usually all is good.
I take great daily care of mine bunnies, no vacations for me. I've traveled all I'm going to travel! My pets are my joy now, and I have lots!

If you want a bunny to be fixed adoption is the best way to go cause sometimes bunnies don’t make it alive sadly cause of how sensitive they are you might get a bunny he’s healthy and everything is great and take him or her to get fixed and it can go wrong g that’s why when you adopt you don’t have to worry about them passing from anaesthesia which is very sad

So they didnt take a long time to explain me how to take care of his food. Can you pls write a fast resume of everything? I am not english and some words were difficult for me to understand ☹️😞

    • @conspiracynet7492

Bunny's diet should be 80-90% hay, 5-10% fresh veggies and 5% pellets. I use timothy hay and meadow hay mixed together as the feedstock, as meadow hay is high in nutrients and timothy is good for wearing their teeth down, so mixing together works best for me. Veggies should be given sparingly, especially since a lot of veggies have high calcium content and can give rabbits kidney stones. Ideally leafy greens like romaine lettuce (NOT iceberg), parsley, kale, coriander etc are what should make up the green veggies. Pellets should be giving sparingly. I give 2x 15ml spoonfuls of pellets at night to keep him occupied and that's it. Too much pellets = too much protein and can cause digestive issues.
Rabbits have very sensitive digestive tracts so it's important to keep on top of their diet to ensure they're in the best possible health! Hope that's helpful for you and google translates it well enough if required! Let me know if you have any more questions, I'd be happy to help :)

Hi, I'm not quite sure what the pet store told you, but dwarf lops aren't a thing. My guess is that your bunny is a holland lop. Holland lops carry the dwarf gene, but they aren't called dwarf lops.

@@bunnysniezka5541 Your probably right about the pets at home thing those guys are a bit stupid, but, fun fact, Netherland dwarfs are actually not the only dwarf bunnies. The American Fuzzy Lop, the Dwarf Hotot, the Holland Lop, the Jersey Wooly, the Lionhead, the Mini Rex, and the Mini Satin are all also dwarf bunnies.
