MAINS ANSWER WRITING Global warming refers to the rise in global temperature because of increasing concentrations of greenhouse gas namely bon dioxide, cfcs and other pollutants. The primary reason of increased greenhouse gases are human activities, burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, agriculture, industries. This has been observed from past hundred years and has been disturbing the climate pattern. Global warming also has very negative impacts on humans, plants, animals. Its effects on global climate- As the greenhouse gases are present, that trap sun's heat which leads to global warming and climate change, the world becomes warmer more faster and it leads to changes in our weather pattern and disturbs the nature's balance. As the climate change is worsening, more frequent storms, drought, rise in sea levels, drowning coastlines, melting of glaciers. In US cities dangerous weather events are more frequent and severe. To control the effects of global warming, control measures are being adopted. One of the most significant of those measures is Kyoto Protocol that was adopted in 1997. This protocol required participating countries to reduce their emissions of greenhouse gases to levels of 1990 levels. To achieve this goal, the protocol established CDM(Clean Development Mechanism) which was meant for the countries to invest in clean energy projects in developing countries. Other control measures to reduce the levels of greenhouse gases include promoting renewable energy sources, carbon pricing schemes(which put a price on carbon emissions), LED lighting and insulation, adopting energy efficiency measures. Everything considered, The Kyoto Protocol and all other measures aim at reducing the emissions of greenhouse gases in order to minimize the negative effects of global warming.

Tropical cyclone does not form over the equator because the Coriolis force is zero at the equator. Even though equator is a zone of wind convergence, it has nothing to do with tropical cyclone as such. Temperature is highest north and south of the equator and not exactly at the equator.
Coriolis force :- The invisible force that appears to deflect the wind is the Coriolis force. The Coriolis force applies to movement on rotating objects.
