Good question :) There is nothing wrong with multiplying it out but your answers will never look like your teachers and some teachers would maybe even mark it wrong (weird). Lastly, I highly advise you dont multiply them out as sometimes a bracket will cancel at top and bottom and you wouldnt see that if the bottom is always multiplied out.
