The AV-8B Harrier II is a beautiful ground-attack aircraft^^
USA Military Channel, This is fantastic! I subscribed because I love it!
love the engine sounds
Lovely to see them still flying in the US and equally sad that they're not in the UK.
Few AV-8B are still flying with Italian Navy
Still a great jet.
What is the cord hot glued to the 'ceiling' (cowling)? My guess is detcord for ejection.
MDC. Miniature Detonation Chord. To blow the canopy out during ejection.

Was the aerial refuel in Europe? The tanker is German.
The Navy doesn't have a dedicated tanker
I wonder if so because I heard they were taken out of service?

I've never understood why the Navy uses a flexible probe for in-flight refueling while the Air Force uses a rigid probe.
Could it possibly be that the Air Force uses a Boeing KC-135 and the Marines use a 130 with a much slower airspeed ?
Historically, the air force refuelling was started with the big bombers, and the rigid boom has a faster transfer rate that they required. Only they use this method. All other countries use the flexible basket method as this takes less space and can do multiple aircraft at once.
The navy want to keep the ability of performing buddy-buddy air refueling between fighters. As it was at the beginning. It gives some autonomy for the Fleet to perform quick refueling with their own aircraft. No need to wait for big tanker on the other side of the world.
Navy/Marine Corps uses all kinds of tankers. When I was in they had A-6, F-18 and C-130 refueling.
