I used to be a huge Jeongcheol fan (and kinda still is) and Cheol is my ultimate bias but when I looked back on their predebut videos, I noticed how chose MinWonCheol was to each other and then I noticed how they were still so close to each. When I first joined the fandom, I was also a huge Jeongcheol fan and Cheol is my bias but when I looked into their predebut videos (because I ran out of stuff to watch lol), I realized how close Cheol was to Mingyu. After that, I realized they are REALLY close even after predebut. You can really see it start in their predebut videos. Him, Wonwoo (I'm making a video for Woncheol next) and Woozi were literally stuck to Cheol's side during predebut time and Meanie are still really close to Cheol (This video proves it and Wonwoo is like one of the few members who calls Cheol informally all of the time. Woozi is too, Cheol and Woozi always call each other "real brothers", they just don't show their relationship on camera as much anymore). You can really see how close they are to cheol. People just don't pay attention to their ships though.

And Cheol even said himself that being around MIngyu makes him happy and Mingyu comforts him when he is down. I can tell they spend a lot of time together and enjoy each other's presence. I believe that they are best friends, but the rest of their members are their best friends as well.
