Thanks so much, I wasn’t happy with the lab scans that I had for this ! If you see my more recent videos the scans are way better as I do them myself now! It’s a great camera so good luck with it!
Now have a “new” Praktisix, and lens, that has little more reliable film speeds! The older unit needs a CLA. So, rewatching this vid…. Nice job, and still a very cool site! Thanks!
Cool video. The Pentacon Six is a favorite. Unfortunately mine suffered a fall on concrete and bent the shutter speed dial so it is stuck at 1/100. It is impressive that is the only issue with it after that though.
Great video Ant. Loads of interesting stills and moving shots, all edited together brilliantly. I've never used film (except as a child), but something so nice and satisfying watching you work through the process. This looks like a great location, although I think I'd have taken the wellies! Top work.
Awesome video man! I really enjoyed that image at 9:54 I've been shooting 35mm on my channel but I just picked one of these up and I can't wait to start creating work with it!
@@AntMcLean ahh the 6x7 is great too! I’m just getting my feet wet in medium format for now. We’ll see what camera system is right for me for the long term. Also I would really appreciate that!
You probably don't want the winding lever to snap back if you still want to use the camera another 3 years later. It could damage the mechanism. I think handling with care and letting the lever back gently is cheaper than replacing some parts or the whole camera.
Thanks for sharing! On some images from Pentacon can be seen some kind of flare. It is come from lens? Or can you explain the source of "flaring" (much brighter as expected)?
I think the camera back wasnt quite closed properly in the first roll. The second was lomography which can always be sketchy film! tho I think in the later ones it was the end of the roll. I have not had the problem since making sure the back is closed properly and switching to portra for colour work
Hi I know of two problems this camera has one overlapping of images as the winding mechanism is not perfect especially end frames some time 10 to 20% overlapped, second the biometar lens is not so good against light small portion of bright light some times ruin pictures.
@@AntMcLean Thx for the message, my photography crazy teacher had put a hole behind the pressure plate and RED plastic to see frame numbers to avoid overlapping in pentacon six he use to say "Poor man's Hasselblad. If I am not wrong pantacon made 300 mm as well for this camera, Brilliant lens it was.
@@camraktv1547 he isn’t wrong! I think it’s a poor mans any medium format camera! It looks pretty tho! To be fair the Carl Zeiss 80mm I have in it is an awesome lens, I’m not in the market to buy any more for it and I probably won’t be hanging on to the camera anyway
I owned this camera body for a brief moment and need to purchase one for myself! It's light and takes amazing photos for it's build. Great location shoot as well! I love the sea harbor results! The images you captured on your digital camera were really nice! Just start shooting Sunny 16 and you won't need to meter with your phone anymore! Hahaha!
I used a couple of days ago for the first time since I shot this and getting the Pentax, I used to think it was heavy! I have never been a fan of square images but actually looking forward to what I shot :)
I was just trying to take all the variables out of the equation as I didn’t trust it after finding out that the shutter didn’t work at one of the speeds
Wow what a place! Perfect for shooting.
Really nice shots.
Waiting for mine to arrive
Loved the way those images came out - a really nice day for you. Lkd&Subd - best from New Zealand.
I love my Pentacon Six....a big beautiful beast! Thanks. What an interesting location.....great to see it!
I love mine too! Thanks for watching :)
this makes me even more excited to start using my pentacon. the results you got were incredible!

I'm so envious of these great places that you get to shoot I really, really liked the boat graveyard!!
Thanks Theresa, was a great location for sure

Thanks again Donald!!
Another great video showing the process of finding and capturing an image.
Thanks! Easy place to get some good images there
What an amazing place to photograph! Everywhere you look, there's something of visual interest.
It sure is a great spot Keith! Thanks for watching !
@@AntMcLean If you had to do it all over again, would you still buy the Pentacon six tl?
@@KeithElliott It’s a great 6x6 camera as it’s not as big as others and the lenses are amazing but I prefer the 6x7 format so purchased a Pentax 6x7!
Interesting place and very atmospheric with the old wrecks and glowering sky.
A place I will need to re visit for sure! Maybe when the Butt n oyster is open tho...
Amazing work. I wish I had interesting stuff like this in my area.
Thanks so much! It was a long time before I knew anything about this place myself!
Great photos.

It’s been really nice and refreshing to use film again lately and going forward I will be using a lot more... watch this space :)

Thanks a lot bro 📷

Yes, I have already experienced both of those issues along with the shutter not working at 1/125 and a temperamental timer!

@@AntMcLean Right... I have only the Hasselblad 501c that is a 6X6 format and the challenge is all about composition with any of these 6X6 cameras.
@@behindeachfilmgrain the challenge is trying to line everything up back to front! I enjoyed using it for a change
Very photogenic location
It sure is, I will head back there one day!
i read some feedback it will easily get double exposure due to the camera defect , any comment ?
I have never had a double exposure yet with mine, and I have put plenty of rolls through it!
Wondering why you were having to use the timer on the camera for shutter speeds of 1/250 and faster? Surely the shutter button would have been fine?
I was just trying to take all the variables out of the equation as I didn’t trust it after finding out that the shutter didn’t work at one of the speeds
Awesome video, I've been looking to pick up a 6TL myself (:
Thanks so much! It’s a great camera just make sure all shutter speeds work, my curtain doesn’t close at 1/125
*sitting there looking pretty" is a fine reason to own such a camera I reckon 👍
It sure is! Takes a good picture too tho :)
I still have this camera...not sure where
I had so much fun with it recently, it’s a nice little medium format camera
The lense doesn’t look all that sharp, does it?
It is but the scans from back then was from the lab and pretty low quality. Check my later videos for much better results
Nice, why are you going for f11 only?
This old port is a beautiful backdrop. Curious what motives you still have there.
Interesting project which I would like to follow.
Thanks a lot Karsten, was a great place for taking photos
Wonderful!
Thanks so much!
What app are you using?
Lux
@@AntMcLean is that the full name?
Sure is!
@@AntMcLean thanks!

give up timer :D
Yeah but for some reason it now works again!
Low / Wide angle are the best shots.
