2% of 1500 is 30 not 50, you were getting the retaliatory damage. I think you convinced yourself that the 2% doubled to 5% at one point then thought the 5% was before the doubling so you were expecting 10% instead of 4%.

Tortoise would be a good addition because like any auto-chess game, you need some tanks to take the damage so that your damage dealers can stay alive to do their thing

i think what you lacked was the upgrades, the fact you managed to get a win is already enough for a non upgraded run

Talks about DOT needing time to burn, right after putting the fire towers as far away from the spawn point as possible... That won't have an effect later...

I think the sunstones ALSO have a radius, but it isn't evident before placing them down. Placing them down gives the same halo you get when casting spells / shield tower activating.
