I've definitely done the electrical tape thing like 15ish years ago. Get the good stuff that's more matte than gloss & get your edges/cuts right and it's pretty damn hard to tell. Back then the Honda I was rocking mostly came with chrome window trim, aside from black being offered on either the lowest US trim level or the JDM ones we didn't get... and being a mostly broke college kid I had more important things to spend money on than window moldings.
