I do not agree with your boxing of Ghanaian sound and calling it similar, not your fault tho, it reveals your lack of in-depth knowledge of Gh music. Stop looking for what's popular on the internet only. Peace
Guys, don't jump into conclusion with just one GH tune and say GH songs have a similar azonta feel, GH is the most diverse in terms of music now that u can't even tell which genre is biggest. Highlife, hiplife, reggae, dancehall all on rotation
I was even surprised more of Sade's comments.. She might have to listen to more of Ghanaian authentic tunes.. cos she had it way wrong... This song isn't even a hit in Ghana as it is in the UK maybe... we are far past the stage of azonto...
They are being extremely bias....but once again is no shocker cuz that girl most likely is nigerian and you know how they act...ignorance is bliss for those people.
You guys keep saying its more about the dance than the song, umm duhhh. You are reacting to a VIDEO not an audio. You are SUPPOSED to be rating based on the visuals & message behind the video. Akwaaba means "welcome" and from what I read online, it symbolizes hospitality and acceptance of foreigners. I think thats why they incorporated different dances like the shaku shaku from Nigeria, Gwara Gwara from S.A and other american dances. Basically saying black ppl are all one regardless of where we are from.
dont blame them, they have never been Home since they Were born.... spoiled BRAT...who cant even speak their own language... they have to be straight if they are reacting to audio or the visuals...Foff
ghana music is mainly "high life music".high life music is never going to be lost in "ghana music".it's like saying jamaicans should stop making reggae music.
I’m not from Ghana, idk what akwaba means but dance like any other art relays a message. In this case, from how inclusive the choreography is I picked up a form of unity among people of color, from popular dance moves taken from different countries. The creative direction also hinted that even the fashion culture. I might be far off the mark on this but that’s what I got.🤷🏾♀️
Azonto was only a dance not a musical genre. Afrobeats is a musical genre. Azonto, shoki, gwara gwara, shaku shaku are dances not musical genre. People seem not to know the difference.
That score is very low for such an amazing video in my opinion, the Internet going off a couple of times seemed to suck out the energy for this reaction. The choreography between the dancers and camera work is amazing. The transitions are so smooth and feel like a dance routine. Dance is an integral part of music and music videos but kinda receive the least recognition on what kind of influence they have on the consumer. Just think about any song that’s hot right now and there’s a dance to go with it. This video gave the shine that’s almost exclusively reserved for an artist to the dancers, I applaud the artists for doing that and on top of it giving us one of the best music videos by dancers. As a Music Tech student at Bowie State University, most of my classmates were either in band or cheerleading. The marching bands in HBCU’s are epic because of the combo of music and dance skills, choreography is an integral part of that music and that’s why you see Big artists like Beyoncé using them or the pata pata guys from Mozambique. Hope you guys do a reload reaction. Cheers
Hey guys! I really value your opinions but I think you should read the descriptions of the videos you review. DJ Guiltybeatz made this mix in an effort to have other DJs add it to their sets and playlists. It’s really not meant as an actual song, just something to really give a dance vibe. Which is why they went out of their way to ensure that the focus was on the dancing. Hope that clarifies it but I’d advise you to read descriptions if you guys don’t already do. Thank you.
Lool ain't gonna lie girl infront don't know shit bout gh music lol. there's a lotta of music genres in gh. if she wants to talk about songs with same or similar formula then talk about nigerian music. In Ghana there are different genre's and there is a difference between azonto and afrobeats. So educate yourself and get updated before you sit there n talk bout what you don't know.
Don-Carloz you just on point. I can not understand why Sade made comments out of her ignorance. She wants to under-rate and downplay Ghanaian music just because of azonto dance, really? Where did high life originated from? We should not be hating on each other out of jealousy because we are all one people.
Ghana music sound alike you can't deny that. Even highlife sound alike too but different from these type of genre. Nigeria too sounds the same apart from rap or r&b same with Ghana.
I feel you guys really didn't do your homework well. The music wasn't just about the dance moves. It was about the message. You guys didn't do a research about the music before doing a reaction. As for the lady in yellow, she looks more like a hater of GH music. It looks like she had already made her verdict before the whole video started.
fragranceoflove k As she’s Nigerian, she may not understand the Ghanaian dialect/slang but yes I agree they should do their research. For example, It’s like a Jamaican person might not understand the Trinidadian dialect/slang. I think our culture is not celebrated as other some other African cultures. So not everyone knows much about our music and culture. The only singer they know is Fuse Odg that’s who they know. Not a lot of people listen to that type of music.
I think if you all agree to the fact that it's a mainly dance song then its served its purpose right. the rating should be based on whether it did serve it purpose. I think you can't dispute the instrument, it was good. probably it should be 7.5 or 8.
Your view dont matter cos you guys dont have the historical background to make any intuitive comments on african music. If you will continue to promote hatrad among african nations. Nigerians always wanna promote the idea that they originated every good music genre in west africa. Ask fela kuti where west african music started from? We should celebrate each other on the conitnent and get out your colonial boarders. Its funny that this group doesnt know that this is a street music and and its purposely made for street dance just like science student song

Azonto is only a dance yes I agree. But Nigerians don't dance Azonto, maybe when it first came out we danced in for a couple of months or so, but not Anymore. Nigerian music and dance changes sound and style yearly. while Ghanaian keep on dancing Azonto
MrSivram28 nobody said Nigerians dance azonto. The very popular ones dwell on the Azonto dance because it's a Ghana thing... I don't know whether that will ever end because it is a cultural dance. The style is not Azonto.... It's hiplife. That will never be lost
MrSivram28 Besides this dance video was to promote the Akwaaba dance... Didn't anyone see that?! Or people just want to bash Ghana for holding on to Azonto. Smh
Common Eugene, only two of them re Nigerians there. U guys should stop criticizing Nigerians at every chance u get!!! Although, I thought they should have given it a 7 or 8.
Azonto made the way for African music?? Azonto of just 4 years ago? That is FALSE.
