I adore Blue Exorcist but I hate how Rin just lets them hate him and berate him and tell him he should just die and when they finally acknowledge he isn't Satan, I don't remember any of the apologizing for it. It took him actively wanting to die for Shiemi who was probably his closest friend beforehand to recognize "OMG you didn't suddenly become a completely different person over night and were hurting when we told you to die" or as she put it "I'm so stupid" it's why Izumo and pink haired dude who I can never remember the name of for some reason are my second and third favorite characters because after the shock they don't care, pink haired dude "does" but only because his friends are the most vocal about it and he would rather side with his friends which is dumb but I get it, but Izumo was like "ok, anyways", sure she wasn't suddenly nicer to him she just hated him for the same reason she always hated him and I can respect that, and yes that's despite knowing what goes on in the manga.
