Hi Leigh. Despite some of the misgivings about missing functions in the OS I certainly can't fault the fidelity of the sounds. I thought the Strings section was phenomenal. Personally for me the best I've ever heard on any Arranger. A really comprehensive Demo of sounds and some of the Styles. Well done Leigh. Always enjoy your Demonstrations.
I had a PA4X and really liked it, but was never able to get around some of the features. Like making your own styles, and the sequencer. Drove me NUTS! But now, with the new lay out, it looks like those issues are a thing of the past. I'm buying the 76 version. The Fatar keybed is SO GREAT, it really allows you to play organ swipes and piano runs with ease.

Thanks for the demo. It showcases nicely what you can achieve with this beast of a machine. The quality is outstanding. The arranger features and ability to knock out a quick tune is demonstrated well. I hope the sequencer is more intuitive than that on the Genos 🙂

Great video. I know the push now is to the Genos 2 but having been able to try both, I prefer the Korg. Lot of great sounds and feature on the Genos 2 but I just could not get past what was to me, a really cheap feel to the keyboard. The sounds out of the box seem better on the Genos 2 but with tweaking the Korg can match in most categories. The guitar sounds on the Genos 2 are some of the best I have heard. Both are great!

I have a PA-800. I wanted the PA4X, but I am drooling over this in all the demos and tutorials I've seen so far. What an amazing instrument. The funny thing is, this is only $100 USD more than the PA4X-76 Oriental. Amazing deal, and it's STILL less than the Genos!
@@Ahmad-vw5uw I think the Genos is more ready to play live, with songs that are already dripping with effects. That's not a bad thing if you're playing a gig. The Korg, to me, sounds more like an acoustic instrument 'in the raw.' That means processing to get a record ready sound, but it also allows you to tailor it to what you want. Of course, I'm talking the samples, even before onboard processing.
What a wonderful demo. This really show cases the power of this arranger. I'm thoroughly impressed with your playing and the sounds coming out of this little guy. Thanks for doing this.
In my opinion the sound of the Korg Pa5X, among all the arrangers currently on the market, is the one that comes closest to that of a band playing live

Other than that, it was one awesomely fantastic video.. and here I am planning on at some point getting a Yamaha PSR-SX900, and at another point acquiring a pedal steel guitar to go along with it.... The Korg PA5X has blown me away, bro! This newfangled flagship of one of the ultimate sweet keyboards is definitely goin' onto my wish-list .. Thats for darn sure! Yeah!!😃

I have a question.... You can split the keyboard in several places. For example LOWER from C1 to C2, UPPER 3 from C3 to C4, UPPER 2 from D4 to F5 etc ?
Lovely job Leigh formed great background music for me. I have been looking at excuses to get this or the Nautilus although mainly playing piano right now. I tend towards free ranging music on Nautilus despite the quality of the seemingly not too intrusive styles. But tempting nevertheless
Would you do a video comparing this to Yamaha Genos 2. I can see you prefer Genos but being classically trained piano player I can’t get past the fact that Korg do the 88 fully weighted keyboard. Why don’t Yamaha do the same?

Of course GENOS... I have Tyros 5, and Genos. I purchased Pa4x last year. Quality of sounds and specially STYLES are shit on korg. I have no idea about Pa5x obviously... But I assure you YAMAHA sounds and styles have been always superior to that of Korg....

I forgot to mention that User Interface and THE FLOW of editing and the functionalities that you mentioned above.... as a whole... in korg is way better than Yamaha.... I play for an audience aged 60 to 80 (Waltz, tango, slow (platters, tom jones, Elvis, ...) cha-cha, mambo, rock'n'roll 50's, twist, salsa, bachata, disco samba, fox, disco 70's ... etc. ... SO NO MODERN MUSIC ! I hesitate between the Genos and the korg Pa5X What do you advise me please? Thanks.

@@cinepost No, I don't have a TH-cam channel. When I listen to comparative tests, the problem is always the same because we compare sounds, but never styles. I would like a store to be able to program, rock'n'roll, twist, 70's disco, bossa, salsa, etc. and let the instrument be played without playing with the right hand (just the accompaniment).. But that doesn't exist.

These instruments are obviously high quality but I'm having a hard time getting past the cheesy factor. Would you listen to the music created by an arranger keyboard outside of playing it?
Actually many many famous songs have been created in an arranger keyboards for the most part.... people always think that they are created by synthesizers /workstation... But no.... Or at least it's a combination of both.... I did search it many years ago....

There is a Guitar selection that you made and I could almost hear Classical Jazz. It would have been so cool had you played that from your repertoire. With you using F as your Dhrone it was quite realistic and better than Yamaha for the bagpipes.

I’ve owned a Korg pa4x for years, use it at my gigs. It looks like Korg took away the ec5 foot switch option???? I sure hope not! I use the ec5 to control the drums and fills in real time at ALL my gigs! Is there another option for control of stops, start, fills, a b c d sections with a foot switch of any kind? Man, I sure hope so, or I can’t buy this amazing new PA5!
@@LeighWilbraham I’ve been using both Korg PA1000 and Yamaha PSRSX900 for over a month now just to compare and decide which one to buy. I’m leaning towards PSRSX900 for so many reasons including friendly interface, ease of use, styles, simplicity, accessibility of parts and expansion packs, etc. Keep in mind that I’m still a new player who starter few years back. I just play at home for fun, and have no intentions of doing any gigs or public playing. Which one do you think is a better option for me? Earlier this year I bought the famous YAMAHA DGX670 88 keys and it’s a lovely machine; however, I came to a conclusion that I’m not a big fan of weighted keys, so I would like to hear your opinion on weighted key pianos as well. Thanks bud!
apart from great sounds and styles biggest step forward in my opinion is user interface - much simpler user friendly and intuitive compare to older versions of PA. its great sounding out of the box without digging in menus for customization's like it was in the past.. and with that is real Genos killer which played great out of the box

And a Chevy is STILL less than a Mercedes.
This Pa-5x has much better natural sounds and styles than the Genos. Besides, the semi-weighted Keyboard fingers are far ahead better in all respects.

On the contrary, I think the styles are more realistic than on the Yamaha Genos.

Why pa5x Really needs an sistem actualization that is coming in 1 of September ? Anyone knows why? Isn’t perfect already ?

I play for an audience aged 60 to 80 (Waltz, tango, slow (platters, tom jones, Elvis, ...) cha-cha, mambo, rock'n'roll 50's, twist, salsa, bachata, disco samba, fox, disco 70's ... etc. ... SO NO MODERN MUSIC !

@@cinepost I bought the Génos (1) and I regret it. The sounds are better but the styles I need are the same
With hindsight and the number of videos I've watched, I believe :
N° 1 = Ketron Event ; N° 2 = Korg Pa5X Musikant ; N° 3 = Génos 2

When I listen to comparative tests, the problem is always the same because we compare sounds, but never styles. I would like a store to be able to program, rock'n'roll, twist, 70's disco, bossa, salsa, etc. and let the instrument be played without playing with the right hand (just the accompaniment).. But that doesn't exist.

yes there is and styles come also with sequences. Great feature of the Pa5X

These instruments are obviously high quality but I'm having a hard time getting past the cheesy factor. Would you listen to the music created by an arranger keyboard outside of playing it?
Depends on who plays it and what’s played
Actually many many famous songs have been created in an arranger keyboards for the most part....
people always think that they are created by synthesizers /workstation...
But no.... Or at least it's a combination of both....

Is there any truth with this statemen?
You can make movie soundtracks with any instrument.
There is a Guitar selection that you made and I could almost hear Classical Jazz. It would have been so cool had you played that from your repertoire. With you using F as your Dhrone it was quite realistic and better than Yamaha for the bagpipes.

there is no midi to style converter anymore?? and that on a keyboard that cost about 4.600 euro to bad not worth it to upgrade from pa4x
What about the new voices, styles, pads, twin style players? You focus just one one feature?

@@LeighWilbraham twin players also on the pa4x mate and pads are for dj's not for keyboard players and new voices?? the only thing they did is chanching te equalizer settings so it sound more like a genos
I’ve owned a Korg pa4x for years, use it at my gigs. It looks like Korg took away the ec5 foot switch option???? I sure hope not! I use the ec5 to control the drums and fills in real time at ALL my gigs! Is there another option for control of stops, start, fills, a b c d sections with a foot switch of any kind? Man, I sure hope so, or I can’t buy this amazing new PA5!

@@LeighWilbraham I’ve been using both Korg PA1000 and Yamaha PSRSX900 for over a month now just to compare and decide which one to buy. I’m leaning towards PSRSX900 for so many reasons including friendly interface, ease of use, styles, simplicity, accessibility of parts and expansion packs, etc. Keep in mind that I’m still a new player who starter few years back. I just play at home for fun, and have no intentions of doing any gigs or public playing. Which one do you think is a better option for me?
Earlier this year I bought the famous YAMAHA DGX670 88 keys and it’s a lovely machine; however, I came to a conclusion that I’m not a big fan of weighted keys, so I would like to hear your opinion on weighted key pianos as well. Thanks bud!

apart from great sounds and styles biggest step forward in my opinion is user interface - much simpler user friendly and intuitive compare to older versions of PA. its great sounding out of the box without digging in menus for customization's like it was in the past.. and with that is real Genos killer which played great out of the box
