I really disliked the change from Vancouver to California. Vancouver could double so well for so many small town locations on the show and had an ominous gloom that was completely lost in sunny California. Everything suddenly felt like generic "Hollywood" stock locations we've seen in so many other series. That was around the time I started to drift away from the show during the original run.
