Mustfabad has a powerhouse of British times
Supply of electricity to Amritsar city was delivered from city from this powerhouse
Mustfabad is also called bijligarh
The powerhouse was linked to Verka Railway station through a railway siding to bring equipment and material for.powerhouse. now the rail line to Verka mainline is dismantled
We used to go to Verka school along this railway sidings.
Jethuwal distributer was passing along village Mustfabad. It had a big irrigation network for entire land of Tung Pai, Rakh Sikargah and Tung Bala.
Now Jethuwal distributors is closed. It used to pass through mokhmpura, shivala company bag along Sant Singh Sukha sing school basmat Avenue and terminating at present Green Avenue

I was born in a small sub village Karak Singh wala less than a mile from Mustfabad
Karak Singh wala was in Hadbast Rakh Sikargah
It had 7-8 houses only
We shifted to village Mustfabad in 1965 when I was in class 7

Village Mustfabad is part of Tung Pai Revenue Estate. The land was largely owned by the Sikh landlords. Ajit Singh was the biggest landlord of Tungpai
He is no more now. His son now live in chandigar
Most of the land of Ajit Singh has been sold and New Residential areas colonies have come up there.

Mustfabad had about300 houses all mud houses
All Muslim families vacated the village and Chamars from Sialkot who came to India through Dera Baba Nanak occupied all these houses. All houses in Tung Bala were occupied by Julaha or Bhagat Bradari from Sialkot
The adjoining village Ganda Singh was occupied by Mahashas of Sialkot. The entire land of Rakh Shikargah was owned by Bakhshi Brahmins of Ganda Sing Wala. Karak Singh Wala was also part of Rakh Sikargah and our parents when they came from sialkot became tenants on the lands of Brahman owners. We had only 2 houses, all of our relatives settled in Mustfabad
My maternal grandfathers house was in Burj wali gali. When we came to Mustfabad in 1965 my father bought a piece of land on the extended village on the main road side
I completed rest of my study from Verka school going on foot from Mustfabad
Later on I joined Khalsa College Amritsar and joined bank service as officer. In 1984 I got into IPS and next year qualified for IAS. We all the 3 brothers got into IAS/IPS apart from 2 more from our village in IAS.
Economy of Amritser flourished due to very close proximity to Punjab capital Lahore and was part of Lahore division ,people in city were business oriented.
Chohan Sahib I have watched almost all your videos. You are doing a great job. Baba ji seems to have a great memory and he is in good health,God bless him. You stopped interviewing very quickly. Was babji and his family the only people who left the village prior to the attack? Did his father not convey the message to his fellow villagers about the imminent attack? What happened to them?
Most of the people were not believing such situation and they refused to leave the village. Resultantly most of them were killed later on.

Baba ji is from my village Mustfabad
Now this village is part of Amritsar Municipal corporation since 1976
Now the old village has turned into city culture. The old houses have now given place to bazaars. The old houses were all mud houses
There were 3 main streets in old village
There was a Burz on one side of the village near shanshan Bhoomi.It was called Burz wali Gali

My father used to tell us that the narrow mottled road from Verka to Amritsar Mohkampura, Chali Khu (40 wells) etc were covered by orchards. In our own life time we used to study in these orchards
Baba ji rightly told there were all kind of fruits. Since the Amritsar city was near so there was big market for fruits and rose and marigold flowers. All along the jethuwal distributors were orchards. It was all crime dominated area because of dense orchards
The miscrents used to loot passebys even during day time.
Later on orchards cut and weaving mills came all along the road
Khanna silk mill was just on the outskirts of Mustfabad on the main road. The post office of Mustfabad is still in the name of Khanna Nagar. The mill at o e time was employing more tha 400 people a d also had quarters for the workers. It was set up in preparation days. Baba ji has not made mention of it

1760 de dehake vich Sikh Misl Raaj de shuruaad vich, Tung Pind a ik Jatt Sardar, jis daa see Sardar Sahib Singh, Amritsar Sahib Jaake, Khande De Pahul chhak ke Singh bangea.
Tung Wale Sikh Sardar Kai Pinda de Malik see.
Lagge ik hor Pind jis da naa hai Nashera Nangal. Ehvi Vadde Sikh Sardaran da pind see. 1600 de lag Bhag Chaudhri Sarvani Shergill ne pind vasaiya atte kai 100 Pinda da Chaudhri banea. Ohs da parpota Chaudhri Chuhar Singh Shergill atte ohs da puttar Sardar Mirza Singh Shergill jo 1752-1787 tak Kanhaiya Sikh Misl da ik vadda aggu reha ohna thalle.
Vallah Pind ve Sikhan da ithiaasic Pind hai.
1665 vich Nauvin Sache Patshah, Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee aye. Ohs Velle pind de ik Jatt Mai Haro atte Sikh Sangata seva vich hazar hoe.
Guru Sahib Jee ne akhiya (Maiyaan rabh rajaiyan).

There were only 3-4 brick houses in the village
There was one big Haveli of preparation days just adjacent to our house
It was allotted to a Brahmin family. They are still living there. I have seen something written in urdu over there. Now most of the old Haveli is dismantled and new residence have come up there
Another good condition brick house was occupied by first cousin of my father. There was hardly any other pucca house
It appears that the residents of this village were all working on the lands of Sikhs
In fact the entire land of Tung API starting from our village right upto mohkmpur touching sarifpura near shivala upto railway line was owned by Ajit Singh and his extended family. The whole city on this side has developed on their Jagir. It is said that land of present day Gold temple was also part of Tung pai. Rakh sakargah had baat was also very large starting from Ganda Singh wala to Verka revenue estate. The present day milk plant Verka is in Verka revenue estate but just before that on by pass land of Rakh Sikargah starts goes along bypass upto Ganda Singh wala. This areas was also largely covered by orchards. There was a big guava orchard just opposite to present day Escort hospital near our old village Karak singh and harisingh wala
These orchards were cut when we were very young. The Verka bypass was constructed as a defence road during second world war. It was almost touching our village Karak Singh wala
