    I’ve been carrying a scarab 2 and a ultratech with a bayonet blade lately, it makes me smile when I slip them in my pocket every morning. The fact they always do what I need them to is just an added bonus.

    Cool one! I had a Bounty Hunter Ultratech and I sold it because it had the same issue this one has: I couldn't retract it with one hand. It was a super cool knife and I wish it was easier to actuate, because I definitely would've kept it.

    Try putting your thumb side ways instead of straight up and down when disengaging the blade. You'll get more leverage and won't destroy the tip of your thumb.

    • @ilikeknafs9563
      @ilikeknafs9563 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve had over $70k in microtechs, and I agree. Microtechs aesthetics , fit and finish is best in the game. They have a lot of flaws though , action not as smooth , and some design flaws that cause failures.. Halo 4 and halo 6 are the 2 toughest and most reliable otfs in my opinion. Spring power is why I love them tho

    Complain about it. Alter it and then sell it. That glass breaker will come in handy and if you use it in a stressful situation you won’t even know it’s there.

  • @ThomasConnolly
    @ThomasConnolly 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    One thing that I hate about Microtech knives besides their tacticool glass breakers, is how the pressure that it takes to pull back the firing switch in order to retract the blade of a Combat Troodon/Ultratech can vary significantly between Combat Troodons and Ultratechs made within the same run. With Microtech OFT knives it's best to hold them in hand first and check the firing switch tension/pressure yourself. Unfortunately, physical brick and mortar knife stores are quickly becoming things of the past and are far and few between these days, so firing switch tension/pressure is really just the luck of the draw when ordering Microtech OFT knives from online retailers. Also, Microtech uses unique/proprietary screws making disassembly difficult if you want to adjust or replace the spring yourself in order to fix the firing switch tension, and if you do disassemble a Microtech OFT you void its warranty instantly!!!

    The Microtech Combat Troodon is an awesome knife but that Bounty Hunter edition is a bit ugly in my opinion. The Bounty Hunter Combat Troodon is ugly, but not nearly as ugly or tacticool looking as those Spartan/molṑn labé themed Microtech knives!!! Also, I really wish that Microtech would eventually make an updated version of the Combat Troodon and Ultratech without a glass breaker and lanyard hole with the pocket clip sitting flush into a milled pocket in the end of the aluminum handle with a screw that was also countersunk into the clip!!!

  • @sofakingphat8087

    I hear you get a really condescending letter when you send your knife back with button issues. I have one and only three out of five of my friends can opener, and only one of us can shut it. honestly, I feel that if you pay over $500 for a knife, it should be adjusted to fit the owners comfort level. this has kept me from buying other OTFs from Microtech. I do on other OTF from other manufacturers. mine has a birthday February 2020 and I hear there are a lot of problems with that era because of quarantine. Maybe I should send it in and that way they are at least notified that there are issues. Maybe I’ll drop in my own letter and put a condescending twist on a bike if I pay $500 for a knife it should be comfortable so it is fun. maybe I don’t spend enough time masturbating to build up the dexterity and muscle mass to perform this action seamlessly. Lol.
