But trust me, dude, not only is the Corvette fast enough to beat Darius, but so is the Viper, so my guess is that maybe you didn’t upgrade the viper to be fast enough to beat Darius or something like that. And might I add that is one sexy Viper you have there, dude! I’m sure you can beat him. You just have to keep trying. That’s what I did, and it worked for me! I know that’s a whole mouthful and then some, but it’s true!

Why can't you just race him normally? Lol it's not too hard near the end if you speed up on the outer corner and turn quickly. You just need to practice the track more. I remember trying to do the same thing as you did, it worked but only as my viper was just about to go over the cliff. It's frustrating, I know but that's why you race him normally.

Like you could say the same about NFS Payback where you have to steal cars from a truck, like WTF does that have to do with racing? But it's because the recent F&F movies had that sort of stuff.
Ok the key car for this race is a tuner car. A muscle car is not a good choice because they can’t manage corners like Darius. Drift cars are an obvious nope. And exotics are possible, but they require way more skill to beat Darius. To sum this up... -Tuners are good because of handling and speed. -Muscles are bad because of hard handling but good when it comes to speed. -Drift cars are good at handling but bad at speed. -Exotics are crazy fast but require more skill in handling. Overall you should have picked a tuner car. And drift tires where like the worst option too. Especially on a viper of all cars.
Oh for sure! If I have a return of this game ever, I will be driving cars that I actually like to drive, which is mostly all JDM. All my races would have a way better outcome being I am older and am going in with a WAY different mindset than 6 years ago xD
Not gonna lie though Darius is notorious for how difficult his races are. You can bypass him in the first phase of the canyon duel but it is very difficult as you need to show perfect driving, which is damn challenging with a Corvette and Viper since they're muscle cars and their handling is really bad.
Wow I've never seen anyone have this much trouble with Darius. I can beat him pretty easily with the Viper. I even beat him with the Cuda,Shelby, AND Charger R/T. Maybe it's just the tuning you have on your car. I see you can't turn worth a shit. You need to put a little understeer with normal tires. Try not to put so much in torque and acceleration. Since that will make you wheel spin and your supercharger on a higher rpm. This will help I promise. Brakes I keep in the middle but I usually just flutter tap the brake because if you hit it to hard it will make you slide with no steering ability.
Ok I know its been a long time but this was just a joke you just need a bit more skill running into him wil just make things hard for you and dont go too aggressive on the power just master the corners
Makes me wonder if the AI in this game uses cars that have traction control to stabilize the weight ratio of their vehicle. If so then it means the AI is basically cheating, i wouldn't rage if i were you, NFS Carbon is not a game worthy of praise as MW or Undercover were, hell even NFS The Run is better. Actually out of most NFS games i played i consider car handling in Carbon the worst, not to mention the AI blitzkrieging it's way around the track. It's possible that in the canyon races the cars that have been customized in performance to have those parts disabled and running instead on stock, it's evident enough they disabled the NOS and speedbreaker intentionally.

I have Need for Speed Underground 2, one of my personal favorites, for the tuning capability and all the aftermarket options, and the realistic sounds, that game was so ahead of its time.

The reason the NOS and speedbreaker are disabled is because it's a canyon duel. Canyon sprint is a different story, that one is a sprint
