Acey applied for the Murderdolls Trademark a year before Joey died & a year before Wednesday even knew. He claims he reached out to Joey and the TM office did too, but non of them actually spoke to Joey. Joey would never have given up the trademark to his band to someone who didn't even play a single note on the first album. Acey wasn't even invited to play on next album or be in the touring line up for '' Woman & Children Last'' which he absolutely slated & made fun of in an interview, then put up on the Murderdolls website ''whats ur favourite song?'' He claims the profits are going to an animal shelter rescue - which everyone knows, Joey loved his cats & was heavily involved in... but there's a lot more profit to be made from Murderdolls merch & since he owns the trademark, who is actually going to check up on this guy. He's not doing this for free! Acey even told me, Joey's family were made aware shortly after he passed so even they didn't know what he was up to behind Joey's back, when he was alive. Sorry, but Acey stole that Trademark & basically stole Joeys work & cashed it in. And if he didn't, why didnt he speak to Joey himself or even Wednesday to say '' look guys, this is what I want to do?'' At least give the main songwriters that much respect! Joey would never have let this happen & Acey knows that.
I should maybe hang out with Acey sometime, we have a lot in common, I too own a hearse, love horror movies, Static-X (Edsel aka Zero), Dope, Murder Dolls, everything Rob Zombie, and would love some tips on sobriety I want it.
I don’t think it’s morally correct that Acey is profiting off of another artists work. Wednesday 13 wrote most of those songs as much as six years prior to joining Murderdolls. He wrote Die my Bride when he was only 19 years old. He joined MD when he was 25. There is video of him playing the original versions of the songs with his old band Frankenstein Drag Queens back in the mid 90’s up on TH-cam and I have those albums. Wednesday co wrote the rest of the songs with Joey who produced them and Joey played pretty much all of the instruments on Beyond the Valley with the exception of Tripp Eisen playing a few guitar solos. Acey was hired as a live guitarist for MD after Tripp Eisen went back to Static X. Acey may have bought the MD trademark legally but ethically it’s stealing. Especially now that Joey has passed he is profiting off of a dead man and that’s ethically immoral. If Joey was alive I’m sure he would be furious. Joey and Wednesday should have been paying attention to this but they are both constantly thinking ahead and moving forward with the next project. They probably were not contemplating about something they did 20 years ago but apparently Acey was. I don’t know all the nitty gritty behind the scenes details but Acey could have contacted Joey or Wednesday honestly and they could have compromised on this. It’s not difficult to contact Wednesday. He has responded to messages I’ve sent him over social media. I don’t understand why the record company didn’t contact them directly or did they? I refuse to purchase anything that Acey is selling under the Murderdolls name because of this. I feel like he did this out of resentment because he was not asked to be apart of the second MD album. He even pretty much trash talked it when it first came out so he must have been pretty offended. It was Joey’s decision for Acey, Ben, & Eric to not be a part of the new lineup though I do not know the reasoning. Joey took that to the grave with him. Acey still stabbed Wednesday in the back even after Wednesday helped promote Acey’s coffee line too. Shameful! The video promo is still up that predates this whole debacle. Now he’s trying to pretend like he’s all supportive of Wednesday and his music. At least Acey is donating profits to the Joey Jordison fund and animal charities.
