Tony. Thank you for one of the very best TH-cam reviews I have ever seen! I love how you did not try to be a comedian, nor did you have distracting music playing. Plus, you got right to the point and did not tell stories about things that did not pertain to the UTV review. The audio and video quality were excellent and I liked the way you broke things up into short, detailed segments. And, rather than request "like, share and subscribe" at the beginning of the video, you delivered excellent content first, then made the request, which I was more than happy to do. And instead of using a hand held GoPro with the camera jerking all over the place, you actually know the benefit of using a tripod! Well done!
Jim thank you for your kind words, I’m glad you enjoyed my video and content. I really appreciate your comments, it helps me know I’m on the right track. Thank you for watching and commenting 👍TCT
I got an 1100 two weeks ago over 50 miles on it already. I love the cab with heat and stereo. Better than a 4 wheeler in the winter. I worked trimming trails took me two days to do over two miles of trails now I have to get on the other 4 miles of roads to trim by spring. Makes it nice to get out but have a place to warm up. Peace
William I can see where a cab would come in very handy in your situation. Having a warm place while in the woods definitely keeps you out there a lot longer. I’m glad you are enjoying your 1100. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Hello Tony we went the 850 sidekick, 40 mph plus top speed that we don’t use! Open station and manual dump, a powerful workhorse with a Subaru engine, we Love it👍🏼🚜🪵🇺🇸

We have the 1100 for our local fire department that we use for wildfire season and then put on a 6' boss v-plow in the winter time. We are very happy we bought it about 8-9 years ago. Like you said it's a absolute work horse. We put a 75 gallon skid unit in the box with foam and a pressurized system for wildfires. Only disadvantage I see with ours is the weight but it's to be expected with it being a diesel with everything on it. I would definitely recommend it. Stay safe my friend
Tim that was one of the reasons I looked at the Kubota diesel is that many municipalities and fire departments use them. That in an of itself is a great endorsement. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT

Not sure about Donuts unless we’re on a frozen lake😂 It’s got tons of torque but no screeching tires from a stop sign with this diesel. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
I purchased a 900 eight years ago and really like it. Occasionally it is a little hesitant to shift into reverse. I did bend the tailgate when I used the dump with a trailer hitch attached. The gate caught on the ball when I lowered the box.
Raymond the Kubota diesel UTV's haven't changed much over the years. In my opinion its a tank and gets the job done. I have the same issue with hard shifting both forward and reverse. But even with some of the issues I wouldn't trade for another UTV. Thanks for watching and commenting.👍TCT
The 25 mph is one of the reasons I bought the Kubota. My boys help out and don’t need them flying around. Lol. I did wimp out and buy the cab. The air conditioning is nice in the hot humid summer days.
Sean you are an extremely smart father! There is no doubt that nothing good happens with speed. When I’m plowing the heavy wet snow I single digits I rethink my idea of not getting a cab model. Fortunately with the Boss V-plow I’ve cut my plowing time in half to about an hour so I can suffer in the elements that long. Appreciate you watching and commenting 👍TCT

I have an rtv x1120 a canam hd10 defender and a 900xp ranger. Hd 10 is used at home the ranger and kabota used for my biz. Kabota will get the job done but when production is important I’m getting in the ranger. It’s not just speed it’s moving material across ruff terrain. Take them both loaded at 20 mph across terrain and the ranger is in a different world. Power? A 900xp will pull like crazy. People talk about belt trouble but a little common sense goes a long way. All of them have trouble. Last night I put a rear axle bearing and a tie rod in the rtv 1120. Today I could hear a u joint going out in the ranger. You use them and they break you abuse them and they break faster. Kabota bed is better. Ranger bed is great if you don’t abuse it. I load mine with bobcat and I have had to squeeze plastic together with bolts. But I’m abusing it. 29 top speed is fine on job site it’s how fast you can go between 0 and 29 that’s the issue. Just one guy’s opinion with all three brands
James you definitely have more hands on experience. You’re right if you abuse your equipment I don’t care what brand it’s not gonna last. That’s interesting about your comparison between the 900 & teeth Kubota. Thanks for sharing. Appreciate you watching and commenting 👍TCT
I just purchased a XG850 Sidekick from Kubota last year and it is an amazing addition to my small farm, gas engine will run 40 mph but still has the great towing capacity even for a gas engine. Absolutely recommend any of the Kubota products.

Excellent choice. If my experience is any indication you will use it for at least a couple of decades. I bought a 2004 Kubota RTV900W brand new in 2004 - the work place model with the hydraulic dump bed. Mine has a 3 speed forward hydrostatic transmission - L, M, H, N, R. If it doesn't want to go in gear, gently blip the throttle, then it will shift. If it doesn't want to come out of gear, do not reef on the shift lever, put your foot on the brake and give it a few seconds for the transmission to release and it will come out of gear easily. I bought a simple fiberglass Kubota accessory roof that fastens to the roll cage and wouldn't be without it. Mine is approaching 4,000 hours with all routine maintenance performed on schedule and works just fine. Do not slack off on the maintenance. Diesel engines need clean oil, clean fuel, and clean air. The transmission needs regular fluid and filter changes on schedule. Mine is a first generation unit so it's had a couple of upgrades to make up for new design issues, but like you say, it's one tough reliable machine. Mine is still on the original tires. It's been parked inside its whole life. One caution: Don't force the shift lever. On a slope, put your foot on the brake and wait for the transmission to lose pressure, then it will shift easily. Forcing it can lead to a problem, at least on first generation models.
Really appreciate all your input on the X900. Experience sometimes is the best teacher. I noticed using the break helps the shifting as well as stepping on the throttle. You’re right about the maintenance which is the key for longer life on equipment. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT

John I must have missed that one but will go back and watch that fix on the tailgate. Im sure Wayne would help out a lot of people with a fix on the shifting issue. Really appreciate you taking your time to let me know about some of the fix’s for this machine. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
The kabota utv are a workhorse. I forget what model has an option for hydraulic couplers at the back and the front I believe. Now that's one heck of an option.
I believe the next series up (x1100) has the option for hydraulics but I never asked if the x900 could. I wasn’t planning on installing a snow blower on my unit. Appreciate you watching and commenting 👍TCT
As I mentioned we all have different needs, I would seldom take advantage of a UTV that went over 50mph on my property or the woods. Thanks for watching and commenting.👍TCT
Another great video. My buddy has a four seater Kubota diesel with a cab. It’s super nice but I really find the cab to be a pain. It’s too hot in there most of the time and I feel claustrophobic… The open model is the way to go. I hope I can afford one someday.
The 4 seater Kubota’s are really cool in that by folding the seats down you gain more space in the dump box. I prefer the open station since I’m in and out of the UTV so much. Appreciate you watching and commenting 👍TCT
James the Heatmaster is my fist OWB and I’m spoiled now. I love feeding it wood and not having to use LP gas. Happy holidays and stay warm. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Don’t tell my wife it’s a fun toy, I told her it’s a “work thing” and it’s a necessity not a want. Guess what, she bought that line😂! Appreciate you watching and commenting 👍TCT
I agree a cab model would be nice and maybe I will trade mine in and upgrade at some point but I’m in and out of the UTV it might be a pain with a door. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Hey Tony! Really enjoyed your review of your UTV 💯👍. Definitely a good little work horse for the property. Great presentation and description thought out 😊. Quick question, noticed on the rear there when you were discussing the hitch, it looks like there is a rear pto, I’ve never used one so I’m not sure if it was or perhaps that was something else, maybe I missed something during the video but if you could clarify, that would be great :) great video to enjoy the Sunday coffee with! Thanks for that Tony! Take care! Andrew from NB, Canada :)
Glad you enjoyed the video while you were sipping your coffee! Ok it is not a PTO, there is an option where you can tap off and use the UTV’s Hydrostatic trans to run a hydraulic log splitter or front mounted snow blower. Hope this answers your questions. Appreciate you watching and commenting 👍TCT
@@TonysCoolTools ah I see, that makes sense and a good feature, thanks for clarifying and passing it forward Tony, appreciate it! Take care :). Andrew from NB :)
Hi Tony. I noticed in one of your videos (can't seem to find it), you have a nice rack system on the bed of your RTV-x900. Can you post a link to that rack? I'm seriously thinking about upgrading my 2005 Ranger with a Kubota RTV-X900 but really need to be able to be able to bring my chainsaws with me without putting them into the bed. Polaris has a nice Lock and Ride system, but I'm thinking RTV for the diesel grunt power, and hydraulic dump bed. Thanks!
Nice rig there, I agree 25 is fast enough, I like to run about 10 mph myself. I got over the speed thing when I was younger, I started racing snowmobiles when I was about 14-15 years old and did that for about 7 or 8 years and I was hard to beat. I would like a UTV but it is out of my price range so now I am looking for a new ATV and plow for it, still will keep my Arctic Cat for plowing yet. Thanks for the video
Larry you’re right racing is a young man’s sport. As we get older our bodies won’t allow the abuse we put them through in our youth. One reason I hear people switching to UTV’s is the can swing their leg over the seat. I love any piece of equipment that makes snow plowing easier. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Once again, you did a great job, so much so that I am sold, I would like to make you a really good offer for you machine, one FULL stick of not yet chewed gum?? Let me know when I can come and get my new UTV!!!
That is a COOL machine lol. I lways fill mine up with red diesel, which is much cheaper without tax. The Kubota is a utv is in a class of its own. I bought mine just like you as a work horse. Kind of like comparing a Clydesdale vs. Pony. Nice break down on your machine. Perhaps I should drive over and do a side by side.
Harry I agree it’s an awesome machine, and the purr of the engine puts a smile on my face almost like when I’m sitting on my tractor. I think a side by side comparison of the two UTV’s would be an interesting video. Thanks for watching and commenting.👍TCT
Ironically it is but It handles it with no problem and I definitely don’t tow long distances just around my Woodyard. Top towing speed with the Eastonmade is 5-10 mph. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
If you and Kubota both assure and certify it, how could I buy anything else?? Of course, I'm referring to the horn, which you called a "manly" horn!! Chris would prob get tongue tied and call it "hornly man"!! He's takin' up a new vocation lately, a cat wrangler!! Gettin' pretty good at it too!! Maybe Prevagen is doin' him some good!! - How does Kubota compare pricewise? With, say, Cub UTV? Or Allis Chalmers? - Always enjoy your vids!
Yup Chris is the cat whisperer. As far as pricing, The Kubota definitely has a higher price due to being a Diesel engine. I don’t know what the new cost of the x900 (unit I have) but I paid $14,900 2 years ago. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
It might also be an interesting project to upgrade the UTV with a roof, windshield, maybe doors when you want it in the future - and do it yourself, instead of just trading it in :)
I had definitely looked at installing a roof and windshield but not sure about a total enclosure. What I’ve found is if you don’t have factory heat the inside fog up to the point you can’t see out. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Peter I can’t agree with you more. My wife tells me I always have a smile on my face when I sitting on the Kioti tractor or the Kubota UTV! Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Well that definitely changed since I bought mine 2 years ago. I paid $14,900 for the x900. And naturally whatever options you get will increase the cost. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Jean, Chris already hit me to buy some cookies from Adams daughter. I definitely ordered a bunch, you can’t go wrong with Girl Scouts cookies. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Being sub 25 hp And sub 25 mph Keeps a bunch of the emissions insanity, from being required. . 25 and 75hp are the magic lines in the sand, for required emissions.
I absolutely adore diesels. I work mostly with older tractors and diesel cars like vw. The main benefit of diesels is there is no spark system. The absolute pain in the ass that spark systems can be whether its distributors, spark plugs, wires, coils, control modules or anything inbetween, especially on multi-cylinder engines. A diesel removes an entire complicated system from the engine and it is truly a thing of beauty. Once you work on and use diesel engines you will never go back. They are fundamentally better than gasoline engines in essentially every way.
Tony, no disrespect intended, but you don't understand small engines as far as gas vs. diesel. You kept saying how GREAT the torque is in that little Kubota diesel. You even stated that it has 40ft.lbs. of torque. Well, the Polaris gas 1,000cc engines have more torque than that. Also, when you were quoting specs, I forget what the Kubota is rated to tow, but I DO remember that it was considerably less than the Polaris Ranger, which is 2K. In these tiny engines, the ONLY place that diesel really wins out over gas is in mileage/fuel consumption. They DON'T offer anymore HP or torque than their gas counterparts. Then you talked about how long that diesel engine will last. Well, IT WILL, but the machine around it won't. You'll end up with a body that's falling apart, and an engine that's still good. I'm not bum-wrapping your machine. The Kubota IS a good, solid machine, but the diesel doesn't offer anything more than the gas model does other than mileage. And as you already know, it's also considerably slower. It has no more HP or TQ than a gas model offers. Sorry buddy, but you got caught up in the sales hype.
Jeff thanks for your comments. I truly wasn’t trying to pit one brand against another. After doing a lot of research I knew I didn’t need a UTV that did 60mph, what I was looking for was a workhorse. When I talked with a few farmers that had gas JD Gators and had Kubota UTV’s they all said they loved the power the Kubota had. The other endorsement about getting a diesel Kubota was most municipalities and road crews use the diesel Kubota’s, I didn’t see one Polaris. Without a doubt the Polaris is the number one brand out there especially for trail riding. I don’t see any tractor manufacturers using gas engines on tractors and I used the same analogy about a UTV. After 2years I’ve been extremely satisfied with the diesel Kubota UTV. Appreciate you watching and commenting.👍TCT
I am a huge honda fan and own a ton of their stuff, including a foreman 400 -1996 for the farm and trail...that never broke in 27 years. For real farm caliber equipment...i vote for diesel. Hunting and fishing: honda.

Nice rig Tony. I agree that if you’re not using a sXs for running the roads, 25 mph is fast enough on a property or in the woods.
As I mentioned we all have different needs, I would seldom take advantage of a UTV that went over 50mph on my property or the woods.

Sweet Kubota Tony.
We bought a Gator some years back. Thought about the one you got, but it got pricey with options.
What I found is the gator was most used brand of UTV when I was growing up especially the 6 wheeler.

I see you have a OWB so do I Heat Master. Mines not a gasser but I use the totes too
James the Heatmaster is my fist OWB and I’m spoiled now. I love feeding it wood and not having to use LP gas.
Happy holidays and stay warm.

Nice toy Tony!
Take care sir !
Don’t tell my wife it’s a fun toy, I told her it’s a “work thing” and it’s a necessity not a want. Guess what, she bought that line😂!

That's a pretty good camo pattern on that UTV. I hope you don't lose it in your back 40. 🤣
Ha ha I usually tie a pink fluorescent pink ribbon on the roll bar so I can find it in the woods.😂

I need a cab model with heated seats lol.
But seriously, wouldn’t you want a windshield, doors and a heater especially for wintery environments?
I agree a cab model would be nice and maybe I will trade mine in and upgrade at some point but I’m in and out of the UTV it might be a pain with a door.

Thanks!
Jim here is the link for the Artillian UTV rack.

Once again, you did a great job, so much so that I am sold, I would like to make you a really good offer for you machine, one FULL stick of not yet chewed gum?? Let me know when I can come and get my new UTV!!!
I’m really impressed with your offer, if a taco and some polka music is added we might have a deal!
Thanks for watching former bestie. 👍TCT
Nice machine Tony.
Thanks Terry, the Kubota UTV definitely makes my job dealing with firewood much easier.

Now that's a cool tool. Does UTV stand for Uncle Tony's Vehicle?

Tony isn't your Eastonmade still over twice the towing capacity of the Kubota?
Ironically it is but It handles it with no problem and I definitely don’t tow long distances just around my Woodyard. Top towing speed with the Eastonmade
is 5-10 mph.

That engine is music to my ears.
Peter I can’t agree with you more. My wife tells me I always have a smile on my face when I sitting on the Kioti tractor or the Kubota UTV!
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Tony you missed 1 Big thing Price!
Well that definitely changed since I bought mine 2 years ago. I paid $14,900 for the x900. And naturally whatever options you get will increase the cost.

Being sub 25 hp
And sub 25 mph
Keeps a bunch of the emissions insanity, from being required.
.
25 and 75hp are the magic lines in the sand, for required emissions.
That is a great point you mentioned. Man people buy a tractor 25hp and under for that reason.

I do not like diesel and own nothing that uses it. Reinforce each time I see the prices at the station. Well Dun.
I appreciate you watching and commenting 👍TCT

I am a huge honda fan and own a ton of their stuff, including a foreman 400 -1996 for the farm and trail...that never broke in 27 years. For real farm caliber equipment...i vote for diesel.
