As soon as he gets some experience under his belt to avoid the pocket closing in and avoid sacks, he will be 👍🏻. His accuracy was on spot and the young man could run, NICE!
People said Nico was better than Archie Manning. After his first start, I'd say Nico may be the best freshman QB prospect in the country. I live in Knoxville, and have watched Tennessee football my entire life(45 yrs). I'm more excited to watch him play than I was for Manning, Shuler, Tee Martin, Dobbs, Casey Clausen, Hendon Hooker, or any other Vols QB in my lifetime. He seems to be as comfortable as say Bryce Young, but Iamaleava is 6' 6", compared to Bryce at 6 ' flat. He only threw 3 or 4 uncatchable balls that I saw. The rest of his incompletions were drops, or terrible route running. If he stays healthy, he's very likely to bring the first Heisman trophy to Rocky Top. Huepel has the prototype QB for his offense in #8. Go Vols!
This was definitely a confidence building game for him. Most of his throws were designed for safety, likely to let him get reps to get the feel for college speed while the run game was winning them the bowl. Not a bad strategy at all in my opinion. But we will really see what he is made of when he is let loose next season to throw more bombs and to try to thread needles.
Nico can do it all. I bet Huepel would tell you this kid is most talented QB prospect he's ever coached. It's very early, but the Nico era could be a very special time to be a fan of the Volunteers!
yea these bum announcers. like it's their job. take 30 seconds to practice and say it correctly. ee-uh-molly-ava. i know ill be hearing this bs all season.
Hes going to be a star. He has IT.
Come on receivers. You are killing me.

This boy wants it an that's why he holds on to the fb cuz he knows if he can just get a little room he can make a play
NO doubt he has a pretty good game with some good moments, but he still has a lot to improve on .... Looking forward to seeing how he progresses ....
Well he finally has film to study
Future 🦅 🤙🏽
Them odds for heisman went through the roof after this game .
Iowa has a legit defense. TN played them as well as any offense this year. They played smart
