    That was a pike. That was also my dad that rang you up at the bait shop. First striper video I have ever watched and it ended up being my dad((Ray Arnold) in it. That just made his day. God bless..

    Great videos. Just found your channel and have been going back and watching several. You definitely do a good job with the editing. I love that Thunderjet of yours. I mostly fish for salmon but going to get better with the stripers and sturgeon this year. I'm going to steal your idea for the magic thread on your bait board. Little things like that make life a lot easier.

      Shasta Steve awesome! Welcome to the channel glad you like it! I appreciate it! Can’t take credit for the editing that is all my brother in law.. lol he is really good and I’m learning a lot from his help.. the magic thread on the bait board is very convenient! We do love the Thunderjet! It works great for us.. it does get a little rough in the bay and ocean not having a fiberglass boat.. but it’s a trade off for all the other fishing we do.. we try to fish for everything! Some fish I’m just better at catching than others.. lol but hopefully that is what the channel is about.. sharing and learning about fishing and boats! Thanks for watching.. and tight lines!

    I like the tip on the anchovies. I usually cut the head and tail off and put it on the hook and then use magic thread to hold it on the hook. I will definitely try your method. Thanx 👍

    • @ReelLifeFisherman
      @ReelLifeFisherman  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stanley S i was using sardines that day .. since they are bigger I cut them in half like that.. but when I use anchovies I slice them down the middle but not all the way through.. and fold them over, flesh out and wrap with magic thread.. I always throw the head and tail overboard as chum.. and have cut fish open later on and found my fish head and tails in their belly.. thanks for watching the video.. and thanks for commenting.. I appreciate it! Tight lines!

      @@ReelLifeFisherman Thanks for that tip. They did look large for anchovies. Thanx for the clarification. I definitely like your videos. I live in Castro Valley and it's nice to see familiar spots where I have fished or been before. 🎣🎣🎣

    We call those worms 'Rag worm' in the UK. They are one of the best baits to use. They are commercially collected in Ireland and I have used a one which was about 3 feet in length. The jet black pincers can give you a nasty bite, even on the small ones which are about the same size you had, usually a tad longer over there. I am sure the bags of 'rag' must have been weighed for sale because from my memory, there was only one huge worm in the bag we bought. Usually there was about seven in a bag and were expensive. Two of the most prized baits over there were crab (softies which had just shed their shells) and 'Rag worm'. The softies had to be caught on rocks and not that easy to find just anywhere. It's confusing sometimes when there are fish of different species caught all over the world ,yet have the same names. In this case, a Kingfish. In Australia we have a yellowtail kingfish. Your Kingfish had a distinct yellow tail but the dorsal fins were not the same ( confusion).I wish there was some official body which could keep things in perspective . Great video though and look forward to looking back on all of your other videos. ALWAYS a thumbs up for yours. Tight lines my friend.

      @ReelLifeFisherman  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the are awesome bait! but I have to be honest they freak me out! They do try to bite and have big pincers! We call them pile worms.. and they work great! I have no clue why or how! But I hate hooking them! But I do it because they work.. they are usually any where from 9 to 12 dollars a dozen..

    • @ReelLifeFisherman
      @ReelLifeFisherman  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      And yes I would save so much confusion if everyone called a fish or a bait the same thing! 😂 Even in our own fishing community in this area people will call certain baits or fish usually a unwanted by catch.. by a different name! Glad you liked the video! And thanks for your great comments! And as always thanks for watching.. tight lines!

    It’s a King fish ( Croaker ) . They are normally out in the Ocean ( HMB, outside the Gate) . Very good for Ling Cod live bait. I’m surprise they are in Delta. Keep up the good videos bro. Love watching them. 👍

      Reel Life Fisherman also make sure you have your clicker on your reel so the fish can run with it For a couple of seconds before you set the hook
