Great song from their third album, "Babyface Strikes Back". Wing & A Prayer Fife & Drum Corps. (long title) great dance floor music. Hope you enjoy this one.
The 1970s is the ONLY decade in which something can be corny and cool at the same time. I love this jam and it's cool how the last 2 minutes are very romantic with that dreamy orchestra. We go from Popeye the sailor man, to Popeye the lover man.
Le doy gracias a la vida de haber disfrutado y haberme formado con esta música con esta calidad y está riqueza musical, tenía 14 añitos cuando la escuchaba en el radio en la ciudad de México, Felicito y agradezco a quien la compartió!
Oh, man! Now I’ve heard everything! Yeah, I used to watch those Popeye cartoons back in the day. Never thought the Wing And A Prayer Fife And Drum Corps would give it the disco treatment, but there it is. Enjoy.
KTLA 5 here in Los Angeles would use portions of the song for the commercial break intros/outros and used the ending part of the song when it was time to say goodbye until next Sunday morning.
I never expected to hear a 60's funk-a-licious remix of Popeye the sailor man when I was shopping at the dollar store last night, but I knew I needed it in my music collection...so here I am
Ya know Olive Oyl didn't help by constantly waving it around, but it really is Popeye's fault. Bluto was there doing his thing and here he comes. Blow me down.

Brings back childhood memories of watching Tom Hatten hosting the Popeye cartoons show on Sunday mornings in Los Angeles on KTLA 5 back in the day.
Yes! I had no idea I'd ever get to hear this again. I love TH-cam. And Tom Hatten was such an enjoyable host.
@@pennypay1 Oh God yes!! Just learned he passed away this year at age 93.
Wow, I haven't heard this since I was 7 years old living in Brooklyn. I almost thought I imagined this recording.
never heard this before. What a classic collectors item.
thanks for uploading this!
I still have a mint copy of this, my mom bought it from a bargain bin in a local store, in 1982, I was 14!
I don't get the haters, I love this song! it's funky, groovy and cool :)

Good lord!.........okay ---- enough!
LOL 😹
Popeye seems a lil different than I remember!

This on XPN's worst song in the world. (12/29/20 4:40 EST) I think it's pretty neat.....
"Where classic disco still lives". You don't need that nasty apostrophe.
The horror.
This is just as worse as Disco Duck...
Trash like this and disco duck destroyed disco. No more than a pop cash in- no serious club ever played this.
Moutton Noir you would be surprised.
Shut up its catchy
