What a terrific program! I watch it every time with pen and paper to make a list of possible shows. I just wish shows weren't so expensive! Please do something about that. Fascinating to hear critics talk honestly about how difficult it is to maintain objectivity. And some of them see what's said about them on social media?
So happy a program like this is back!
I loved the show. I'm from Brazil and I'm traveling to NY next January. Hope to catch some of the recommendations!
Don't let their negativity put you off seeing Back To The Future. The effects (including the car) are worth the price of admission alone (as is Roger Bart). 😎
These critics are right when they say that BTTF isn't for them. It is a passion project by Bob Gale, Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard for the devoted fan base and we LOVE IT. 😊 I've seen it twice in London and will be seeing it on Broadway in January along with Merrily and Gutenberg (and maybe some others we rush). BTTF is not trying to be high art or win awards. It exists to make people happy. I dunno, but kicking BTTF is like kicking a puppy. 😏
Classic critic snobbery over the people’s choice musical. Actual people love back to the future and it is a seriously entertaining two and a half hours.
Could this be why they failed to discuss The Shark Is Broken, other than a brief mention?
