A TIP (that have been obvious in the mind of players) for Super Smash Competitive players and aspiring Super Smash Competitive players. When you train with a character, train against every other cgaracter on the roster, until you are good enough with your training character, against each one. Do not move on to other characters until you figure each matchup out. Competitive players and commentators constantly talk about matchups. With enough brain power use, matchup is NO problem. Super Smash Ultimate is a VERY balanced game. Learn and PRACTICE against ALL matchups and you are SET for future battle.
I mean the problem with that mentality is availability of matchups. Against really popular characters you're almost always going to have someone to practice against, whether it's a friend, people at your locals, or even just going online. You don't have to look very far to see people playing like Wolf, Joker, or Steve right now and you can learn the matchups very readily. On the other hand how many people do you see playing like Mii Gunner? Or like Duck Hunt? The commentators mentioned either in this match or another one of Smub's matches that people don't get the opportunity to play against tournament level Ridley players much outside of specific regions.
This Justin guy needs to relax he's all over the fucking place swinging around on the chair. Just breathe and calm down dude. It's gonna be just fine win or lose.
Byleth might need slight nerf. Looks to me like that player Justin does what I call hogging character advantages. When that player JutinByleth's attack pattern is found out, it is quite over. With practice, JustinByleth looks a potential CHALLENGE challenge in the future. Hogging character move advantages and still doing okay. For right now, I am NOT surprised if Ridley or ANY other character wins against JustinByleth, right now. JustinByleth does not seem to have the safe move techniques down.
don't think that qualifies a nerf. every character in every fighting game usually has at least one thing that seems OP if you don't learn the counterplay. isabelle, Ken in sf series, Arthur in mvc3. are all characters that aren't OP but can blow people up who don't respect them
There is zero reason to nerf Byleth. Is he a better character then Ridley? Yeah. But so are at least half the characters in this game. He’s hardly a dominant character in the meta at this point. There are a lot of characters that need a nerf before byleth.
