My “Fiji Mom” Unisi took me through the village, then invited me back for Kava that evening, then gave me a ride back to my hotel, then gave me a fish dinner the next night and told me to go drink kava with the men of the village. All for nothing. We remained in contact until she unfortunately had a stroke as I found out through a relative. Not to mention all the other people I met walking around. It was an absolute culture shock for this American
