As a huge fan back then, I turned my back at him because of his issues but what most of us didn't know is that he struggled and suffered a lot his whole life living in the spotlight. People eyed him pretty bad, judged him through his life,love, and private matters. We thought he's all that but the truth is he is just this human who wanted to live in peace with his life and music. The specific use of the word “monster” instead of something like “failure”, “brat” or “hated”, alongside the first and second verse pretty much tries to imply that he was considered a villain, a monster if you will, and we (the fans) were the people that created him as that. The lyrics wasn’t even being subtle with it. Still the aloof teen pop star, as far as I can see it.

The specific use of the word “monster” instead of something like “failure”, “brat” or “hated”, alongside the first and second verse pretty much tries to imply that he was considered a villain, a monster if you will, and we (the fans) were the people that created him as that.
