Room Type: Deluxe Grand Water Villa with Pool
Date of Stay: Mar 2021
We visited Sun Siyam Olhuveli for 3 nights in Mar 2021. We were a bit worried since we were traveling in the middle of the pandemic and were unsure how safe it was in the Maldives and the resorts. It’s worth noting that all the resort staff we interacted with wore masks and kept a safe distance from us during our stay. Physical distancing was also observed in the resort restaurants, and I think it also helped that most activities in the resort are open air or outdoors. We felt comfortable and safe during our stay.
What I loved :
Good value - Sun Siyam Olhuveli is great value for money, and we had an amazing stay.
The water villas has outdoor deck overlooking the ocean and its really great specially to view sunrise/ sunsets
What I didn't like:
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, few of the bars and restaurants were closed during our stay.

Hi, we have a booking confirmation arriving on the 12th Jan 2022 at Sun Siyam olhuveli .The resort has sent me the confirmation letter but they havent deducted any payment. Do all payments have to be made at the resort itself?

Hey, thanks.. it’s generally not windy but if the weather is bad then it can become really windy… I like beach villa with pool as we can use it any time or else you will always have to go to common pool… but the best exp is grand water villa with pool… you can save money in beach villa.. use common pool and book grand water villa with pool as it’s really beautiful and a life time experience

Hi, Did the resort take enough security protocols when it comes to Covid situations? Is it safe to travel with a toddler.
Yes they followed all safety guidelines and resort is huge so you can follow social distancing properly but at times of common lunch and dinner you will find restaurants are crowded.. but you can avoid that by managing your time - going early then everyone else comes
Hi there! What type of boarding did you guys take? Would it be reasonable to pay some extra for an all-inclusive boarding service in this hotel? ...because food and drink prices are kind'a ouchy 😭
All inclusive is slightly expensive but worth it as it will cover all beverages including alcohol if you drink

Yes now even the test is always included in the package which you will take and yes test is mandatory
Is it advisable to take half board , full board or All inclusive for this resort?
All inclusive
It depends - all inclusive cover liquor and all juices/ water / cider etc.. so I will say all inclusive but if you don’t drink alcohol then you can go for full board as well and pay for coffee juice/ cold drinks around $12 each so calculate and see what works for you

How you booked this villa because on their website its only mentioned grand water villa . No pool mentioned

It was deal for 3 nights with resorts, separately it will cost more.. around 50k depend which month you are planning.. you can do separate booking..

generally they say sun siyam olhuveli will be crowded with kids, as kids get free stay here.,. so no privacy.. was it like that.. am travelling on oct 11..
The resort is quite huge so you will not feel crowded also they have desperate pools which are kinds friendly and other are adult only
