for anyone wondering how boost grabbing works (the technique that lets you fly). You have to press C-up followed by B as soon as possible (idealy you wanna press B the frame after C-up, every additional frame inbetween will cause you to lose speed). It's not really doable with a standard controller grip, you have to place your right hand on top of the controller so you can press C-up and B with different fingers (I use my middle finger for the C-buttons and my index finger for A and B). After doing a boost grab you have to wait a little until you can do another one. If you're too early you'll just fall down. The Up-grab animation can be cancelled the earliest so you can start your next boost grab the soonest that way. Technically you can grab in any direction but since the other animations take longer you will have to wait longer between boost grabs and wont be able to gain height. Leaving more time inbetween the individual boost grabs wont affect your speed but if you are too slow you will lose height. If you boost grab like that you'll lose your speed very quickly (Spacing out C-up and B slightly can be useful if you soely want to gain height tho)

I think if this game was released today it would be big as a 2d platformer and might be give edge a run for its money in sales. I want a remake of this forgotten game

After seeing even in this run some S ranks missed this makes me feel a bit better. Like how in the fuck are you supposed to get S in some of these missions? You are god like though, movements are flawless... great game!
If only Treasure games can bring this back and gun star heroes the last time I've heard from Treasure Games was when they helped Nintendo make Wario World on the game cube damn that company used to make good games.
I'm getting PTSD from boost grabbing with a claw grip on my N64 controller for those speed S ranks... never again. You speed runners are in a whole other league when it comes to perseverance and skill.
Stage 2-4 is both my least and most favorite stage. It taught me how to use boosts but only after dying for 2 days straight. Ptsd and victory in one level
How in gods name are you supposed to get an S rank on Day at the Races? Other than some delays in math fun, it looked like a solid run, but was a C? Though i could be wrong, but i thought in another speedrun they disqualified themselves in more than one event to save time.
The time you get on that level depends on how well you do on the individual disciplines not how long you actually spend inside of the level. For example, for every ball you get in the ball catch game the time goes down by one second but because I get disqualified in 400m and jump I get the worst possible score in those disciplines which increases the level time by several minutes.

honestly the english dub sounds better to me. I get that japanese text makes it faster, but still, can't beat the shake shake and yahoo.
