As a Pens fan this is really painful to watch. We have so much potential, such a chance to be a great team but we are completely unable to get the powerplay going. It's literally like not getting powerplays in the first place, terrible.
Pens draw very few penalties. They're lowest in penalties drawn; nearly half as many as Nashville. They also get given penalties more often than their opponent. Only San Jose has a greater ratio of PIM taken: PIM drawn in 5v5. One other problem with the team is the below average shooting percentage. They have the second highest number of shots/game but are 17th in goals. Rakell is the likely problem. He has 0 goals on 40+ shots when he should be getting 20 in a season. Hopefully he returns to form when his injury has healed - the Pens desparately need a sniper.
I was just thinking that while watching this video. Every game I've seen of the Pens we seem to create chances but it never feels like the goalie will be beaten. It's been a trend since a couple of years. We were bottom 5 last year apparently and bottom half of the table before that (and it didn't help in the playoff series against the Rangers who were shooting really accurately).
It’s a defense problem, they’re terrible on the back check and in extended defense scenarios, they need a guy who clears their net and won’t fall on the ice for every 2 on 1 like letang

It's really confusing to watch, especially when your lineup is what it is. But I think it's only a matter of time till you figure it out
@@CunuckHockey I hope bruh
