I know this post is old as hell but I JUST SCORED THIS KNIFE in 2021!!! A Grail Knife for me!!!! Holy ****! Sorry brother, love your channel and I am beyond excited. In case you couldn't tell.
The few Microtech I've had over the years were really well made; and this one looks to live up to their high standards! It looks like they are testing out the market for manual opening knives as I've only seen their autos in the past. Excellent review JB!
Thank you for a great review, as always, my friend! I've never been a fan of coated blades, but it gives this knife a mean look, along with the black clip and hardware, that suits this knife imo. Interesting to see how long it takes to scratch it up! Only nitpick I have is that the detent is a bit too strong. I'm very grateful for you helping me with getting all these knives!
I own many Microtechs. I have a few Socom Elites. The production models have a fantastic action, the custom versions will blow your mind on the action. It's a night and day difference, which is hard to believe until you flip open a custom model.
Very good review. Does the rubber inserts grab the pocket either going in or out? It is a good looking knife. Like the size. Like the 2 tone blade except for all the billboarding. Looks like a commercial as it is in the show side and use area. Shame not better access to the lock. Good review on a knife few people have any issue with that own them.
@@BigRedEDC had to! Saw it in my feed and guess what I had in my pocket!? ;) My Satin drop point 2018 m390. Been carrying it all week. It kicked my large Sebenza out of pocket!
Once again a great knife and review. Love the two tone blade. Pity the writing is so big on the blade but taken as a whole i like it. Good health and stay safe.
Nope! Not in my wheel house at that price. I think I'd grab a Kershaw Blur instead! And at that price, I should be able to save that knife anyway I want. So what does this mean? It means you did a bang up job with the review. I know what I want in a knife and because your review was thorough enough for me to make an informed decision were talking excellent work on your part, as usual! Cool looking knife but just not for me.
They make some nice stuff. I have one of their OTF's that o got as a gift from my brother. but their pricetag is outta my price range lol. Good vid brother 👊
Well, we know it won't baton. Tip down weakens the itegrity of the knife (that's why the Blazer failed. Lol). It also makes the man card of its carrier invalid and automatically makes the carrier a democrat 😂 All joking aside, good video JB! I'd buy one if it weren't for the tip down carry!
Most good autos are expensive and for good reason. The production cost is quite high. Nvmd its the base version; price is due to the materials. Too big for my taste; kinda sick of blacked out knives.

That's awesome Will! I am super happy for you!!!
@@BigRedEDC Thanks brother! Sorry, I had to geek out and yours was the first review I found from a channel I follow. 😁

Awesome brother! Thank you very much for watching!
I've never owned one, nor even touched one, but there's just something about that knife that really attracts me to it. Fantastic review brother 👊😎
Thank you very much brother and thanks for watching!
Good review I like this knive but I can not get past the bill boarding to much on the show side
There is quite a bit of it! Thanks for watching Rick!
Excellent knife. One of the best in this price range. The tanto is even more of a beast.
Thanks Ronin and thanks for watching!
The socom is such a gorgeous knife.
Thank you very much for watching Jeff!!

Rubber didnt really interfere with the in/out of pocket for me Rick! Does have a bit of billboarding going on. Thank you very much for watching!
That’s a damn fine knife. Looks so wicked! Thanks for sharing (and thanks to BH!) 👊🍻
Thanks for watching brother!!
Awesome brother
Thank you brother!
I like it ! I've been eyeballing one of those for awhile! Thank you BigRed for this review I've enjoyed it 😀
Thanks for watching as always Rick!
As expensive as these are, that clip retention is a good thing. Those inserts are just screaming at me: “I want to be fancified by Marshalllaw123!!!”
That is very true Marshall!! Thanks for watching buddy!
Shhhhhh, The Socom Elite is one of the great secrets!
Welcome to the Fraternity ;)
This one is a loaner Joshua...I havent joined just yet...lol! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching patrick!

Billboarding on the blade is a little much on it! Thank you very much for watching RHINO! Hope you are well my friend!!
Wow really amazing looking knife ever!!! :D
Thanks Amos!
@@BigRedEDC you're very welcome 😊!!!
awesome review man never had Microtech but always wanted too
Thanks unclecow and thanks for watching!
These knives are incredible. I don’t know what improper knife sharpening is, but it voids the warranty lol
Thank you very much for watching!

A very well-made blade
A very nice knife indeed! Thanks for watching!

I would be more likely to spend that much on RR knives Tobias...lol!!!

I would like to see a 3 1/2" model. 💯🇺🇲👊
Check out Neeves Knives Randy. I believe they just did a review of a smaller SOCOM. Thanks for watching brother!
Nice looking knife but price is high for me
Thanks for watching Kevin!
The lock stick absolutely goes away, and the pressure it takes to disengage the lock becomes less as well.
That's pretty much what I've heard and read! Thanks brother!
great video JB i have seen this knife on insta a lot lately i wonder how it compares to some protechs
To be perfectly honest, I dont have enough experience with either brand to make an effective comparison!

Thanks brother and thanks for watching!!
Its quite large for edc and that handle grips are not so good for me. Other things are good.
Right on NiK!! A little big for me as well!! Thanks for watching!!
I found out there to much knives out there I cant get them all =(
Lol...very true my friend but it's fun to try!!
Nice review and cool knife as not my style but very cool nonetheless....Good stuff....

First , nearly 300 dollars them rough riders must feel outclassed.lol ATB DAVE
In all honesty Dave, I would be more likely to spend the $300 on RR knives!
