Seriously, how did you watch the last 2 seasons and not realize that Carr was the only thing keeping the saints competitive? They got blown out in every game he didn't play in, but had a winning record in games he finished. He was the only reason saints had an offense most of the time. So, why and how would it be a good idea to dump him? Just punting 2025 then? Hoping to draft a QB high in 2026? What happens when that QB is a bust? Just keep losing? Saints fans obviously haven't been in QB purgatory for a very long time. You don't move on from a QB like Carr (graded top 10 last season and was the highest graded player on the saints roster), just bc the rest of the team was hurt and/or sucked. Doing that is how you get fired (McDaniels cough). If Loomis moves on from Carr and saints go 2-15 next season, you can bet your ass he'd be gone. Is he willing to risk that? The Omarion Hampton selection at 40 is a reach for me, it's a deep enough running back to draft one in round 3-4. Hampton is overrated. Kaleb Johnson, Henderson, Judkins, Gordon,Neal, and Gordon are all more reasonable options who are just as talented.
One of our biggest needs is a run stopper or edge rusher. Cam on the down swing and Young may bounce. Run stopper well yall done seen. I don’t see how we need another TE. Draft is defense heavy this year with some truly outstanding talent so Saints should stock youth at as many defensive positions as possible. Next year is supposed to be heavy on offense so since we need to suck this coming season stand pat with most of the offense and draft offensive youth next year. Arch Manning is supposedly declaring next year and drafting him would seem like destiny calling. Give Rattler the helm this year and evaluate him properly. Most of the veteran talent for the offense can be traded or retired by next year so the cap situation can be cleared also. If we are patient and trade back for picks instead of trading up with picks this team could be poised to start contending again in the 2027-2028 season. If the draft picks work out we might be making noise again in the 26-27 season.
Arch Manning is not eligible to declare until after the 2026 season so he has at least two years left - EDIT:: If he does like his uncle’s, he’ll play college 3 more years
I would like to see them trade back a few spots and get more picks like other teams do to rebuild because this draft is fairly deep at some positions they need,but regardless they have to hit on most of this draft

If he’s talented catching the ball he don’t have to be a great blocker. We have foster Moreau and others for that. I’ll take a 800-1000 yard difference maker TE who is an okay blocker over a 300 yard TE who is a good blocker. Jimmy Graham in his prime was never a great blocker but he was an absolute difference maker and an absolute problem for defenses in that offense. Helped make it the best in the league.

I realize the "skill" positions are the shiny jewels that get everyone's attention but if they don't get a quality guard, dt, de then they will have blown it. Getting these bargain basement o/lineman and d/lineman during free agency just won't cut it given the Saints cap situation. Quiet as kept, the Saints don't have bad skill players on offense. They need quality depth. Yes a big receiver would help but you don't need to draft one until at least the 3rd round.
