- The original version is super noise rock esque with my girlfriend on cello - i really hope to have her help me record an official acoustic version. I dont feel finished with this song at all but wanted to post it at least! (even though i look pretty rough).
The song itself is just about when I was watching my sisters ballet recital while volunteering to help with concessions, it was in this interesting and weird church - and upon revisiting the poem to make it into a song, it made me think of going to midnight mass with my girlfriend and family.
lyrics.
a flurry of feeling pushes past me, to a doorway
(I see a figure shaped in cold in the distance he is looking for his daughter)
The sound of skin moving against concrete floor
I can hear the sound of skin
I can hear the sounds of rushing orchestras
I can hear a man saying “we have to go”
A flurry of feeling pushes past me, to a doorway
To an empty empty room.
I can see a reflection of me
I can see how it used to get a lot colder.
I can feel the sheets that used to lay across my skin
The sheets of snow
The sheets of white
The loss of it all.
I used to hate going to church when I was younger
I kinda like it now. I kinda like it now.
Now that you,
That you
I kinda like going with you…
I kinda like going with you.
I now can see trees stringed with light
On an empty table
And I can see a vase with browned flowers.
With browned flowers.
i don't have tabs written for the song yet, but it's just following C-E-A arpeggios, connecting them with the C major scale. Obviously my capo is on the fifth fret as well.
