I love how everyone's saying I hated what kol said and Marcel soke nothing but truth . Honestly Marcel always blamed the mikaelsons for everything and he kept Klaus away from his daughter for five years knowing what she meant to him and Klaus didn't just stand by and watch him get his heart torn out he was in shock and then he screamed after him. Marcel was a humble beast. Threatened all of them and non of them could do anything about it.
Honestly, I would not defend Marcel. If anyone had a reason to turn on Klaus or want to kill him , the last person should be Marcel. Klaus Loved and protected Marcel for centuries. Even after Marcel did the most heartbreaking thing by teaming up with his sister to bring the man who has tormented and hunt Klaus since his birth and for centuries, after him. Burned down the city killing so many people, ruining the first peace that he had in centuries. After Klaus mourned Marcel death, he comes to find Marcel as the king of the city. Marcel even had the audacity to welcome Klaus into their home as a visitor. Treated Klaus as a mere old friend, despite the fact that Klaus had been a father to him for centuries. It didn't matter how old Marcel was, to the point where the both looked same age, Klaus always took Marcel as a son. Despite the betrayal that Marcel did from season 1, Klaus forgave him. Klaus also did not steal the city from him, he made Marcel as co leaders. Marcel didn't want that. Even after they exiled him from the city, Marcel came back with an army against Klaus, which by the way led to Hayley being kidnapped and Hope being almost sacrificed. Which also led to the fact that he lost all his men. Let's not forget that Marcel wanted to kill Klaus, when Klaus did nothing to him. Marcel waged war on Klaus numerous of times but Marcel is still standing. Also, let's not forget that Marcel kept Elijah in a coffin with a witch to figure out a way on how to kill originals. Marcel acted like their enemies the moment his long lost family came back. Also lest not forget the love of his life Rebecca, how he treated her. Let's also not forget that Marcel original plan was to kill Hayley's baby, in fear of Klaus using it to make hybrids. Only because Rebecca joined in on their plans that they change their minds.
Klaus did alot of bad things, even to his siblings but from centuries to this present day. What exactly did Klaus do Marcel to cause such hate. Klaus no hand in what happened to Davina. First of all, the war between Davina and Klaus started because of Marcel. Davina went against Klaus countless of times, even tried to kill him. Yet Klaus and his terrible family had to join hands with Marcel to save Davina and the city. They used their terrible mother forsaken body to do that. Which also lead to her wanting to kill Klaus unborn child. Now after they brought back Davina, nothing changed. What I never understood is Marcel hatred to Klaus, Klaus own siblings have a reason to hate him, but what reason does Marcel has. Klaus never did anything wrong to Marcel, after they returned to New Orleans, Marcel had then kept in check like they were enemies. He didn't want any originals in his city. But those said originals had been his home for centuries. Marcel made an enemy of Klaus but Klaus never made an enemy out of Marcel. And despite everything the marcel did, Klaus never hold it against him
So who exactly is the bad person here. Klaus did terrible things, because he was screwed up. He was abused since he was a child, but always yearned the fatherly live that he never got. Despite all that he remained a sweet innocent child, when his mother turned then into vampires, he also lost his mother's loved. As well as finding out that his life was a lie. Not only that but his true self was denied from him. Klaus lost alot. And all that pain, hurt and despair goes along way. Out of all his siblings he experienced the worst. He went from living his life being in fear to being the most feared. Everything Klaus did was to protect himself so that he could be strong. Because of his father, he never wanted to face fear but to let people fear him. Klaus was broken beyond repair but he wasn't without redemption. He saw Marcel being treated the same way he was. He gave Marcel what he never had, a father's love. He taught Marcel and made him strong. But he never wanted to turn Marcel into a vampire, he didn't want that for Marcel. For centuries he stood by Marcel and even when Marcel wanted to leave and joined the army, he promised Marcel that he would always have a home with them.
So how was Klaus the bad guy. When it comes to Marcel, Marcel had no right to turn against Klaus. Marcel is the one who never wanted to be their family not the other way around. Despite everything that Marcel did, Klaus still trusted him and considered him an ally.
Everyone who says that Marcel was their dog, is very misguided. Klaus gave Marcel everything he had. But Marcel is the one who wanted to take everything away from Klaus and that included his life.
I'm sorry but i can only like the Marcel that stands with Klaus, not the one against. No matter how angry marcel is, he fight should never with klaus. Because from season 1 to 3, Klaus has never betrayed Marcel. Klaus gave Marcel his name, a name that he could have been proud of, when his own father did not.

olts yo yeah that's what I'm afraid of, this season only has 13 episodes. so the story line goes much faster, and there are too many interesting characters to fill one episode. Elijah, Klaus, Hayley, Freya, Marcel, Vincent and Hope are the main characters so the focus is more based on them. Such a shame because Kol never really had a regular role as original vampire. People in USA need to watch the show, otherwise there is no season five.

camille Lloyd it wasn't peaceful before the mikaelsons showed up. Marcel had it peaceful for his followers and the witches and wolves lived in fear. Marcel is no different than klaus. Had marcel lived for a thousand years he probably wouldn't have hurt as many ppl as klaus but he sure would've hurt a huge amount of ppl. The only difference is they'd all probably be witches and wolves and not immortal ppl who can hold a grudge. This season they seem to have somewhat more of peace between them but if it wasn't for the mikaelsons showing up marcel was as much a tyrant as the mikaelsons. Not to mention marcel being merciful is no different from how merciful klaus has been to marcel. He could've killed marcel anytime he betrayed him but didn't. Because klaus did think of marcel as a son. The mikaelsons are bad don't get me wrong but marcel isn't much different with how he was. This season he may be doing things more peaceful but so is klaus so he's not much any different from him whether he thinks it or not.

He was a tyrant in the first season before they showed up and that's a fact and had he had 1,000 years like that there is no telling how many ppl he would've hurt and killed as well. It's a show where if you don't take any sides you can see almost all of them are bad. Klaus is bad but so is marcel. He is a lot like the mikaelsons whether ppl want to admit it or not

Well to be fair, the Michealson's did tell him that he was one of them. Klaus was basically his mentor and his father. At the end of the day, Marcel was second class. Can't blame all the Mikaelsons for what one Mikaelson did. His vendetta should've been against Elijah not the entire family. But Marcel bit Kol and stabbed tunde's blade in klaus' chest. Don't forget Freya killed Davina, but I think she deserves to die. Why? She is stupid enough to revive Kol after falling in love with him after 3 episodes. That was a dumb storyline. Look what happened his family used her and killed her. If you think about it Marcel has saved Hope from the witches when she was almost going to be stabbed with a knife. He saved Klaus from being stabbed with the white Oak from Daliah. Then a get his heart taken out and everyone ok with Elijah for it. Really? That family is messed up. They deserve every torture they get as they cause harm to so many people.
Exactly! They did treat Marcel like family (a big part of the reason Kol resents Marcel so much) but not truly like a part of the family and technically Klaus isn't a Mikaelson. Mikael was not his father. He despised Klaus from the time he was a child.

He needed like 2 thousands of years to finally get his wolf back and after all these years he finally killed his father. While Marcel is pretty much the same, but he wasn't running from his dad most of his life, hell he's alive just because of Klaus. And when Marcel got his powers, he almost blindly wanted to kill every vampire there is except Klaus vampires just to get his little revenge. Klaus did bad things to survive, to finally get his freedom, while Marcel did it all just because he was angry. Marcel is much worse than Klaus ever was. I'm just going to go ahead and say it. The originals are cruel, manipulative, bloodthirsty, and have no regard for the life of anyone that isn't a Mikaelson, a lover/friend, or anyone essential to one of their plans, and a lot of the time, the problems they encounter are of their own making or are the result of what essentially boils down to family drama. In short, its generally agreed that they are horrible people, but I love how they always choose to stick together in the end. Even after over a 1000 years. Most people would have probably went their separate ways after so long and after everything they put each other through (especially Klaus' treatment of his siblings), but they stick together anyways. Always and Forever. And if there is one thing I can respect them for, its their dedication to family, and their willingness to do anything, commit any atrocity, for each other.
I don’t agree completely, I think anyone who would choose a random stranger over your family is a bad person. If someone I don’t know kills me for someone he loved I would have more respect for him than when he chooses me over his family.
You know why? Because it proves your humanity. The originals aren’t ment to be the best or pure characters. They are the most real and the most human. They embody experience and built up mental traumas. Suffering of life and life itself. If you choose objectively in a personal choice, that’s not “good”.
And for many of us they are relatable, I lived a very extreme world with extreme people around me and a lot of ultimatums. See what that does to a person.
I lost a lot of people in my life and if I would have cared for every last one of them I would be dead right now. If they did the same for a thousand years they would be far far far more broken then you see them now.
And if you have gone through hell, it starts to become hard to feel empathy sometimes. After I lost my mother, do you think I still felt bad for people who lost their pet? I wish I could but I just didn’t. It felt like such a minor thing now.

Anyway, they prove yet again, that despite the many years that they've had walking across the Earth, they're still willing to sacrifice a teenage girl to keep themselves alive. A teenage girl that one of their own siblings was in love with. It's selfish and to Marcel, Davina was his daughter. What would Klaus do if he lost Hope? Poor man's venting a lot of anger.
It was Freya and Elijah with Davina the others had nothing to do with her death. Marcel isn't innocent either he's killed plenty of people so like hell he has a right to judge anyone. Marcel wants revenge then go after Elijah and freya they are the reason Davina is dead.

All of this coulda been avoided, keep in mind. Marcel has every right to be the way he was at the time. Guy lost his daughter-figure, and was killed when attempting to offer peace by the only people he considered his family. I love the Mikaelsons, but I'm also with Marcel in all of this.
However, here's an argument. Marcel did betray them first, when he brought Mikael to town.(though it was Rebekah's idea). He did send his first army of vampires after Klaus before pledging allegiance(1x8). Though Marcel has justifiable actions rn, he is not innocent. I'm aware of that. But neither are the Mikaelsons.
I understand why Marcel.is angry, Davina was like a daughter to him. But considering everything he didn't had to do this. Considering everything that happened they didn't have much chance, besides if Lucien did not die, everyone would. And the witches they would have also prevented them from raising Davina back. I can say much about this because it was a hard decision. I don't think they feel good about it either.
But from day one Marcel treated them as his enemy. He said he didn't want originals in town and two originals were too much. Then kept Elijah in a box. He said that they didn't treat him as family. I think from the moment they left when Micheal came, Marcel was probably happy. He ran the town as his. He made their house his own. Then treated them as invader. Marcel may have been born in new Orleans but I think he forgot that he was a bastard child that his father abused and didn't give a name. He forgot that the place he call home, was made a home by Klaus. Marcel not only betrayed them but he wanted to kill them. He actually had Davina studying on how to kill an original. Sorry to say, but I think the grief that he feels for Davina death was just a means of getting rid of the Michaelson. And he got the serum to do it.
From the moment that he took the serum which he didn't even hesitate was the final confirmation that he was going to make them his enemy, because he knew then that he could kill them. So all this talk about family his spilling right now was just to justify his decision. Marcel taunted them on the bridge and had the heart to.say that they made his decision when they killed him. He literally told them that he was going to kill them.all.and as long as he was alive their family would not be safe. He wanted probably Klaus to kill him himself. marcel doesn't stand a chance against the originals on his own, freya is a powerful witch, klaus a hybrid, kol rebekah and elijah urvampire. They made this scene a bit unrealistic

All the Mikaelson family is around Rebekah Niklaus and Elijah, Hayley is Klaus' child mother, and she is Elijah's true love. Of course she is family. But that didn't mean Marcel is not family, whatever Kol say, Marcel is like a son to Klaus.

And when Marcel was extra pissed about that, Klaus wanted to make thinks right. And Klaus was pissed at Elijah for “killing” Marcel even tho he knew about to vision with Marcel about being the strong vampire.
This scene was breathtaking; Klaus and Marcel's peace negotiation was perfectly acted by both Joseph and Charles, but is it just me who wonders every time when Marcel talks in that moment that the little boy he used to be more than a hundred years ago is still in there saying the same thing and feeling the same emotions as he is now.

Marcel ruin Davina and that's the truth. He was the one who put her in the cross fire with Klaus. If Marcel didn't take Elijah as some twisted way of keeping the originals in place, non one would know about her. He used her as a tool to stabilize his power. Marcel was not good, he said he loved Davina but he still manipulated her. He poisoned her mind against Klaus. And Davina caused her own death, she was hell bent on fighting a war that wasn't hers. She went against Klaus for what? She thought she could beat Klaus, and her ego was as high as Marcel. She caused the witches to hate her. And she was always dead, they just lost the chance to bring her back. I was sad about Davina death mainly because of her and Kol. But Davina and Marcel annoyed me alot.
Marcel thinks he's self righteous and Davina thinks she knows best. And they're both hypocrites.
Davina thinks the worst of Klaus and wouldn't blink if he was dead. She won't mind killing him herself, along with all the Michaelson. But she's inlove with Kol Michaelson who did as much bad things as Klaus did. He was only short of death list because he spend some years in a box. And if it weren't for Klaus their wouldn't have been a Marcel.
People can say what they want about Marcel being like Klaus etc but it isn’t true. If you think about what the mikealsons have done compared too what marcel as done you’d think again about comparing the two. Marcel spoke nothing but truth. He could have killed them all but he didn’t. People are just mad now that their favorite characters getting their ass whooped by marcel now on a more physical level.
Its probably hard for others to say but The mikealsons really deserved this. They treated marcel wrongly as well as treated others wrongly for years on end. Now that the family is taking an L instead of A W people are hating on marcel over a Klaus or Kol crush lol. Marcel is my favorite character he rises above being like Klaus even though Klaus taught him. He isn’t going around killing people for no reason. He made rules and gave people a chance beforehand. As far as leaders go he is a better one because he can get people to be loyal too him without him getting them too fear him. It’s a totally different approach on leadership and only mature people would understand that part I think.

In all of originals Marcel irritates me the most. He put Klaus on a trial for what exactly. Klaus did bad things but non of which that Marcel had the right to seek justice.
I would really like anyone to tell me what exactly has Marcel suffered. Cause from season 1to 3 all I see is someone annoying obsess with power and want to be in control. Marcel was a hypocrite. He wants people to be loyal to him but he was never loyal to begin with.
Marcel was not a good person. He was only good to Davina while he also manipulated and used.
Klaus was terrible but he did not deserve Marcel betrayal. Marcel is really all talk. I'm writing this because the trial Marcel set up for Klaus pisses me off. Klaus has a 2 yrs old daughter who Marcel put in danger because of his quest for power. He says he cares for Davina but kills the person she loves. This was not for Davina. He talks about family, but they never outcast him.
If you want to support Marcel fine, but this speech was a load of crap. If he cared for Rebecca why want to kill her entire family?
But I will stand by this no matter how horrible Klaus was, he never did wrong by Marcel. His problems with Davina was because her ego was too big.
That actually is harsh as for anyone to ever say to a former adoptive member of a family. So what if Marcel was raised from a baby or toddler would he be considered a Mickelson than ? Family doesn't end with blood, adoptive kids count. Klaus should take any mistakes he ever made with his relationship to Marcel and learn from them. Hope might not want to fight her parents war on Marcel or anyone. Klaus may want to be better but he can't treat Hope like he did his siblings, Hayley or Marcel. He has to be better than that.

Except Marcel displays traits that are just like Niklaus when he was first introduced in TVD, granted Marcel was raised by him but still that line contradicts itself in many ways. I mean how can he not see that? I don't hate Marcel I'm just not too fond of the character but he also has a point, I can see where he's coming from. Now if Marcellus wanted to be better than Niklaus, then maybe he should start by not giving mercy, but practice forgiveness. And we all know how hard it is for Niklaus to forgive.

And to be honest the roles have reversed that's what's ironic, Marcel has all that power and yet he chooses to act like tyrant the same way Niklaus has. And if you haven't noticed Niklaus has come a long way, he's grown since TVD. I'm not saying it was right what he did to Elena and her family, but he is changing slowly.
And are you forgetting how Marcellus killed the Strix because they wouldn't fall in line behind him and those actions almost got someone killed in the crossfire. Yet he didn't care because revenge was more important. (Again very similar to Niklaus) what was it that Vincent said again? "Consequences be damned".
