Hello Pavan. Ive slowly gotten all of my equipment and finally I watched your EAF video and I did it! Thank you. If you have more videos on how to go from here and operate the system and actually capture images, please share. Vasanth
That's great!! Thanks for watching the EAf video. I'm glad it was helpful. I will have more videos on this setup once the weather becomes favourable for astro photography. Cheers!
Thank you Sir for your wonderful tutorial videos. this past week i installed my first EAF onto my 8se.. it is exciting to see sharper stars using my 8se thanks to the EAF. I look forward to your future tutorials. thank you and clear skies. TexAstro 🙂🔭
Thanks for your kind words! I'm glad that the video was helpful. I hope you will enjoy imaging with your scope better than before with the new EAF. CS!
Thank you Sir for your very useful tutorials. I received my new EdgeHD8 some days ago and I am a bit confused with the mirror lock knobs and the focusing knob. And what I am doing wrong trying to focus the telescope (manually for now). Unfortunately the last few days the moon is behind my living room balcony so I can't focus on the moon and I am trying to do it on a star or Venus. For now the telescope is setup with the included eyepiece. Thanks in adv. for your time
Thanks for watching. I'm glad that the videos are helpful. The focus knob on the scope is used to fine focus on a specific target and then you tighten the mirror lock knobs to that it does not move during imaging or viewing. If you need to focus again, loosen the mirror lock knobs. Hope this info is helpful. Clear Skies!
ZWO EAF Bracket for Celestron C8/C9.25/C11/C14 For Celestron EdgeHD 9.25" and the Celestron .7x Reducer Lens for EdgeHD 925 # 94245 you will have to file down the rounded end of the Bracket that mounts to the Telescope Focus. If not you cannot screw on the Reducer and when you have the Reducer installed you cannot mount the bracket to the Telescope Focus, 1/16 of an inch to big.
Thank you for your comment!! EdgeHD 8 is really a nice scope for Astrophotography. I bought it after carefully watching all the reviews. But unfortunately, I haven’t tried imaging with it so far. The reasons were, kind of, out of my control. Cheers!!
Hi Pawan. Great video (as usual)! So helpful. How did you calibrate your EAF after you installed it, specifically, getting to the zero and the maximum number of steps (which I'm guessing would be 60,000 since the EdgeHD 8 seems to have more focus travel than the EAF has steps, but I'm not sure)? I've just attached the imaging train on my EdgeHD 8 with and without the reducer (as per your other video) and testing it out (daytime). Next step is to install the EAF! Thank you again for the great videos.
Hi Greg, thanks for your comments! I just did manual focus before installing the EAF. After that I used the default settings in ADIAIR and the auto-focus was not super easy. Usually I do manual auto-focus on a bright star before running actual auto-focus routine before any sequence. Hope this info is helpful. Thanks!
@@AstroCrescent Great videos! I have used them quite a bit since getting my EdgeHD8 and AVX. But it seems that you didn't exactly answer the other Greg's specific question about in/out max. I just bought an EAF and am getting ready to install it. I currently have a Celestron electronic focuser on my EdgeHD8, and it had a calibration routine to find the min/max so I know what that is with that focuser. But now it seems like this is not really a thing with the EAF. It seems you install the EAF while the scope is focused and the ASIair takes over from there and you never get near the limits. How did you know your starting point was 27000? Thanks!
Thanks for asking. But I am in Canada. No idea about telescope dealers in India. You might want to search for such dealerships close to your location in India. Wish you All the best!
I just got an Edge HD 8" 2 weeks ago and you have become my "go to" man for instructions.
Thanks a lot! I’m glad that my videos are helpful. Clear Skies!!
Good thing I saw this video. I had no idea about the EAF bracket for the 8" EdgeHD. Very informative video!
Thanks for watching! I’m glad that the video is helpful. Clear Skies!!
Very clear and helpful instructions. Thanks so much.
Thanks! I’m glad that the video is helpful. Cheers!!
Thank you so much for this video. I'm all set!
Thanks a lot! I'm glad that the video is helpful. All the best for imaging with your new EdgeHD 8 telescope. Hope to see the results soon...

Pawan, thanks so much. I'm seriously considering the C8 EdgeHD for astrophotography. Have you imaged with this setup? CS, Bob.

Thanks, Greg! Yes, I did manual focus before installing the EAF. So I had no issues using the EAF with ASIAIR. Cheers!!
Thanks a lot .... mobile or pc software is have this product
You are very welcome!!
What settings do you use for the EAF as far as step size? And have you calculated and tested backlash, or just leave that alone?
Thanks for watching. I just leave the defaults as it. Never worried about backlash settings. Clear Skies!
@@AstroCrescent thanks. I assume you also leave the mirror lock knobs loose, since the EAF is attached?
Do your o how much your OTA weighs now that you’ve installed the EAF, just the way it is set up in your video? Thanks.
I didn't really check the weight but it is probably well within the limits of my AVX Mount. Thanks!
Sir where to buy the eaf in India?
Thanks for asking. But I am in Canada. No idea about telescope dealers in India. You might want to search for such dealerships close to your location in India. Wish you All the best!
YOU not using mirror locks?
Mirror locks are not used with EAF. Cheers!
