Citizen was a very decent hit. We watched in udhayam theatre. The Athipatti episodes were big positive and carrying the movie on its shoulder.. Especially Ajith - Meena scenes and " எலே கலெக்டரு..." . மேற்கே உதிக்கும் பாடல்.. really 🔥🔥

Citizen has many mythology reference from ramayanam to mahabharath for eg the curse of ahalaya and the removal of her soul from stone when the feet of lord Rama touched her same here in the film

Citizen did 100 days. It was a hit. But he didn’t finish on time. It got delayed by months. That tarnished the name of the director as he was a newcomer. Back then AK was doing film back to back and his next film shooting got delayed because of citizen delay.

After which relationship of SS chakravarthy and Ajith didn't go well which prompted him to break the ties that's why movies like Mirratal and other films didn't go ahead citizen was a hit but the kind of expectations it created it didn't reach like what it had to!!!! It deserved more praise!!!!
