The second half of “Full Metal Jacket’ feels necessary to me. I appreciate the juxtaposition but I think it’s more than that. The fact that they never mention the death of the gunnery sgt. in the second half makes it feel like they’ve had more memorable events than pvt. Pyle’s breakdown. Also it shows that the movie isn’t just funny insults, it’s abuse that may or may not have been justified.
I really want Kyle to watch a theory video that's like an hour long about the shining how the mom is actually going insane and almost every paranormal or even violent scenes have certain background items gone, from for example a couch to a pillar prove wendy isn't seeing and hearing things correctly. Idk It super interesting and I cant really explain it all or correct but if anyone's interested I'll totally look for it and link it.
My all time favorite old movie is _Phenomenon._ Its with John Travolta and got so much to it. It goes to the core of what human beings are. Has a wonderful setting and perfect acting. Can highly recommand it.
Trailerparkboys is such a fantastic series! When you invest yourself into it and get to know al the karacters and how things go it honestly one of the best series out there!
I think the main character in Clockwork Orange does get his comeuppance but the guys he was with never did! They became cops and then beat his ass! They seem to have lived great lives after doing such evil shit!
I think they went to the moon but I think what we saw was filmed if not all of it at least some of it. The thing that gets me is when they're lifting off like how are you watching that from a camera that's still on the moon when they're leaving????
I enjoyed second half of FMJ.. Come and see is the best war movie though, subtitles and symbolism is a bit annoying but it shows the civilian POV which is rare to see.
Rotten Tomsttos audience score is great for an actaul quality meter. For some reason it's the hardest to search by but if you're looking for a rating of how enjoyable a movie is (which is really the only important thing; I don't watch a movie to be preached or care about your crtiques of society and such you never sacrifice enttertainment for those and when a director/screenwriter does they failed at thier job of making something i enjoy watching.) Basically audience score cuts through all the pretenious bs that gave Dave Chapelle like a 20% crtics 95% audience. Rotten tomatos if you read this please allow sorting by audience score like you do with critic scores. It's a far better metric of how good a movie will be.
It’s not because I don’t understand 2001 and the symbolism, and the film techniques, but I think that’s the most boring movie Kubrick ever made. It’s a 3 hour movie and only 45 minutes is good.
My girl told me the Saw series in pure genius. Would've broken up with her but she watches horror movies the same way I do, grim a comedic view, so I compromise
Taylor isn't wrong in his feelings about the second half. I can watch and enjoy it. But can't help but get s little frustrated. Because I've watched a lot of documentaries about Hue City it just doesn't seem depicted quite right. There was a lot of heavy duty fighting with lots and lots regular NVA soldiers. And not just a 12 year old girl sniper with an AK47. That's also what I've heard from veterans that fought at HUE, they said it didn't get it quite right. I still think it was a good movie, but could've been done better.

Agreed. Personally share the unpopular opinion that FMJ in it's entirety is a fantastic film.

The Wendy theory is for stupid people and guys that think that making a movie theory is coming up with the craziest possible thing.

Do you think FMJ is great because it’s depiction is realistic? That’s not why it’s great.
