It's remarkable isn't it how nothing works as it should anymore....The Royal mail aren't interested in your business, they are only interested in theirs. 73% price increases for rank incompetence, inadequacy & no resolution or accountability for the manifest consequent failures caused by that rank incompetence & inadequacy. Royal mail is just another in the very long list of organisations/ institutions that actually used to be excellent. Sounds like it's all part of the plan to me....nothing actually works in this country anymore ....the small business, entrepreneurs ....the system is now deliberately designed to make you fail.

The Royal Mail has become a total waste of time, delivery has become a lottery. By the way, anything, and I mean anything (and everything) sent second class mail will not arrive. Eight parcels sent from eBay second class to me (from December) have not arrived, not a single one. An important medical package sent from the NHS didn't arrive either. Eventually, I had to take a taxi to my local hospital to pick up a replacement. I've complained several times, but the RM just don't care. I trust my local postman, so I suspect fraud in some of the sorting offices, but the RM weren't interested in my opinion. Pay only through PayPal and send only totally insured with a guaranteed time of delivery and requiring a signature. Royal Mail service has got so bad, I doubt they will still be in business ten years from now.

These days, my rule of thumb is that any organisation prefixed with 'Royal' is automatically suffixed with '$hite'. Hope it gets resolved quickly for you.
This really sucks! I’ve seen issues with the Royal mail before. I sometimes purchase silverware from Hungerford, and he will ship them to me DPD. DPD is awesome! And very very fast. Anyway, I look forward to buying a silver bar from you this year to get the 2024 hallmark on it!
Tell them you will sue ! I sent a Special delivery to London two years ago and they delivered it to the wrong address luckily I managed to get it sorted but what a pain !! very stressful
The employee that suggested it is a good person, working hard to help. I can't help but think she was told to say this by her boss as a way to close out the investigation

I gave up buying and selling PMs because of the Royal Mail. They often “lost” items. The last straw was a Quintuple Sovereign I bought from abroad that made it all the way to my local delivery office then vanished without a trace. Ouch 😢(Conspiracy theory) I’m pretty sure someone has a discriminatory hand held metal detector.

I was thinking the Royal Mail was going to tell you to mark you package "SILVER PRODUCTS INSIDE" LOL, now that would have been beyond stupid of them!! I think the USPS mail is sometime just as worse!
Where I live nothing that needs to be signed for is ever signed for. That was dropped when Covid hit, and the Posties now just leave the parcel, sign for it themselves (Oh yes!) and drive away. So far, fortunately, I have lost nothing, but I can foresee a time when I will.
What I can't believe is that the Royal Mail fly between London and Edinburgh. It's just over 400 miles. Thats nothing. I am waiting on a parcel of silver due today coming from Melbourne, 3,460km by rail. If we can do it with our single rail line across the Nullabor surely the royal mail can with the so many trains going constantly up and down.
The Royal Mail had the infrastructure and man power to completely dominate the online delivery market. But instead, the bloated management thumbled the ball, over charged and under delivered, pardon the pun!

Hi Mr BYB, I thought between us we sorted this issue before with RM, I drew the attention of the CEO of a previous occasion, who said the package would be destroyed.
Try and see if you can get a dedicated account manager, so at least there's someone you can discuss this issue with? Is it the same place that it's getting held up initially, such as an Airport or Midlands super hub?

US mail service in Alaska sucks even worse they just mark them down as delivered, and say there's nothing they can do they delivered it.
I had a parcel of silver coins spend a whole weekend at Heathrow International LC a week or so ago. Took nearly a week for it to finally arrive.

In my experience 1st class signed for 1 out of 10 does not get signed on delivery.
